Looking for players Rhode Island Thunder Gold 3rd annual winter clinic 11/30/2009
  Rhode Island Thunder 2010 Winter Clinic

Session I:   Pitching/Catching    $125.00

                                     Feb. 14 & Feb. 21 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.

         - Pitching skills will be taught by Kayleigh Lotti. It will include fundamentals as well as advanced skills.

         - Catching instruction will include throwing, blocking, framing, steals, pick-offs & more


Session II:   Hitting with Rob Crews   $125.00



Feb. 28, 2009 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.



- Each player will benefit from personalized feedback & adjustments from Rob Crews and the staff. Instruction will focus on proper swing mechanics, hip drive and swing finish through the use of various hitting drills.



Session III:   Fundamentals                $125.00



March 7 & March 14, 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.

                   - We will emphasize fundamental skills such as fielding, throwing, footwork and catching. Instruction will be seperated by age groups and skill level.

       * If participating in one or moere sessions a $25.00 discount will be awarded.

         * Team discounts are availabe for 10 players or more, call for details.

Clinic Information

            This clinic will teach and reinforce the development of basic skills. We at R.I. Thunder are dedicated to providing intensive instruction that is essential to the development of the young softball player. The coaches

are responsible for drilling the fundamental skills while providing continuous feedback to the athletes.


Equipment: Each player must bring her own glove. Catchers must provide their own equipment. No black soled shoes.               

             *Each camper will receive a T-Shirt

         Thunder Clinic Staff

Dave Lotti: Dave has 15 years coaching experience. He has been coaching R.I. Thunder for 10 years and has advanced them to the “GOLD” level the past 5 years. He has helped numerous girls go to college on softball scholarships.

Bob Rossi: Bob has 17 years experience. He has been coaching with R.I. Thunder for the past 6 years. He has helped multiple catchers earn college scholarships.




Tom Constantine: Tom has 7 years experience. Joining the R.I. Thunder Gold this year, Tom previously was the assistant coach for R.I. Thunder. He has helped several girls earn college scholars.



Kayleigh Lotti: Kayleigh Lotti joins the Hartford softball staff as an assistant coach for the 2010 season. Lotti, will serve as the top assistant and pitching coach. She enjoyed an illustrious career at Hofstra, where she graduated in 2009 with a bachelor’s degree in sociology. As a four-time letterwinner and starting pitcher, Lotti led the Pride to back-to-back Colonial Athletic Association titles in 2007 and 2008 and three-straight NCAA Regional appearances. Lotti capped off her career by earning All-CAA and All-Mid-Atlantic Region First Team honors for the fourth time in four seasons. She closed out the 2009 campaign with an 18-9 record and a career-best 1.27 ERA, including an 11-0 mark and 0.27 ERA in conference games. The three-time CAA Pitcher of the Year tallied 979 strikeouts in her four-year career, smashing the previous record of 638. Additionally, Lotti’s 82 wins and 32 career shutouts both rank second in Hofstra’s all-time record book.         

   

Rob Crews is currently the National Director of Hitting Instruction for the Frozen Ropes Training Centers and the co-owner of Frozen Ropes' White Plains, NY location. His teaching skills and results with athletes from all the levels, has earned him the respect of coaches across the U.S. and abroad. rcrews@frozenropes.com
