Summer League Update

The schedule and rules for the 2009 Summer League has been posted under the handouts section as of June 22.

Every team should be playing 9 games. If you have any questions about the schedule please contact John Kelly at jkelly5262@aol.com.

Due to tight scheduling, we can not accommodate schedule changes at this time unless there is an emergency.  We ask the coaches to work with each other to work out schedule changes and then confirm the change with the league director.

Note that the summer league is organized to provide a venue for players to experience the game in a supportive environment.  We discourage the formation of "allstar" teams.  Our expectation is that players in the summer league are residents within the town sponsoring the player's team.

Girls Basketball Academy

This summer Coach Crist (the FHS coach) and his staff are starting a basketball camp just for girls. Since we hope to field five travel teams this fall this would be a great opportunity to improve your basketball skills in a local, affordable and fun camp. It's also a great opportunity to meet with and work with the current high school staff and some of the players who maybe your teammates in a few years. I've worked with both Coach Crist and Manaresi in the past and know they do a great job with the girls. I strongly encourage everyone to consider this opportunity this summer. I'm sure if you have any questions Coach Crist would be happy to talk with you. The early bird registration fee has been extended through this weekend, and payments and registration can be made at girlsbasketballacademy.com. You can also direct questions to girlsbasketballacademy@yahoo.com.
