Fremont American Little League: FALL 2012 Divisions

Minor B
Minor B is a semi-competitive development program for 6-9 year olds that introduces the players to competitive baseball in a fun, learning environment.

Players will learn concepts of balls and strikes, hitting from pitched balls, appropriate baserunning, situational fielding, and pitching.

Try outs are required for placement on Minor B teams to ensure teams are balanced appropriately. 6 year olds with previous baseball experience may try out for Minor B. 9 year olds with little or no previous baseball experience may be placed in Minor B for additional development.


Minor A
Minor A is a competitive development program for 8-11 year olds that begins challenging players to execute on the ballfield.

Players will learn situational awareness on offense and defense, identifying and hitting player-pitched balls, base stealing, pitching and catching.

Try outs are required for placement on Minor A teams to ensure teams are balanced appropriately. 8 year olds with solid fundamental baseball skills may be placed on a Minor A team. 12 year olds who need additional development may stay on the Minor A team with approval of the district administrator.


Juniors
Juniors is a continuation division for players 13-14 year old with an introduction to professional baseball rules.

Play is on 90-foot basepaths with a live ball, and players learn to lead off, pick offs, situational hitting and fast-paced action.

Players are required to try out to be placed on the Juniors teams. Players with no previous baseball experience should contact the league to discuss options.


Majors
Majors is the standard for youth baseball for 10-12 year olds that allows players to display the skills developed through the rest of the Little League program.

Players will utilize teamwork, positioning, and situational awareness in a competitive environment that results in All-Star play with the opportunity to get to the Little League World Series.

Try outs are required for placement on Majors teams. 9 and 10 year olds with exceptional skills development may be chosen for Majors.


T-Ball
T-Ball is an early development program for 4-7 year olds that teaches the basics of baseball in a fun and engaging environment.

Players will learn concepts of safe and out, hitting from a tee and from coach pitching, baserunning, throwing, and fielding.

Ages 4 and 5 are required to play T-Ball. 6 year olds who need additional development or with no previous baseball experience, and 7 year olds with no previous baseball experience may play in T-Ball.


Seniors
Seniors is an additional step for players 14-16 years old who have the desire to further development on the 90-foot field.

High school players may play seniors after the high school season has completed, contact the player agent or coach for details.


Big League
Big League is the final stage in the Little League program, allowing players 16-18 years old to play following the high school season.

Challenger
The Challenger program is for 4-18 year old players with special needs to enjoy the game of baseball.

Challenger provides a structured, safe, baseball program that focuses on the therapeutic and social benefits provided by team athletics.
