May 15, 12 pm
May 16 2 am, 2 pm

More Details on the WRRC Take Down.
 Hi Falfins Parents -
With another winter season under our belt and summer just around the corner, it is time to take down Wolf Ranch and we will need your help.
The project will take over a week May 14 - May 21, rather than 3 days. Our plan is to begin the removal all the walls and roof panels over the May 14 weekend and roll up for storage.
On Monday and Tuesday of that week, I have made arrangements with professional riggers to come in and remove all the aluminum roof support beams. On these days we will need a couple of volunteers to help stack the support beams and the coaching staff will be in the water to receive the beams after they have been lowered.
Wednesday, will be catchup day and Chris Whitlow, who represents the building company will arrive to help us for the next 3 days.
Thursday, we will prepare the rest of the building for the final dismantle, we won't for sure how many volunteers will be needed this day.
Friday, we will need at least 12 volunteers all day that are willing to use a cresent wrench. The crane will fly the main trusses to the parking lot and we need the majority of the volunteers to dismantle the trusses and stack the parts in designated areas.
Saturday, we will need 10-12 volunteers all day to load the semi-trailer and clean up the area.
This is no small undertaking of getting this done, but last fall the comments were this is just like an old fashion barn raiser or wow what a great workout!
Looking forward to having everyone participate in the project - this is for your swimmer!
If you have questions or suggestions please don't hesitate to email or call Coach Mike 963.8355
Things we will need.
3-4 16 foot ladders
1 impact wrench with compressor
1 forklift
tarps - to place the walls on to prevent any damage
alot of involvement
Bring
1) gloves
2) bottle water
Thanks

Foothills LC Open Schedule for this weekend. Please note changes.
Hi swimmers and parents attending the Foothills Spring LC Open at the Carmody Center Pool this weekend,

Attached are the psych sheets, warm up schedule and timelines for this weekend's meet.  Please note that the timelines are tentative, and are not meant to be taken as a guarantee.  In particular, the host team has chosen to move the afternoon warm up and start time up by 1 hour on Sunday only.  This puts the Sunday PM start time at 12:40, not 1:40.  While this change is reflected in the attached warm up schedule, it is not reflected in the attached timeline, so if you are looking at that timeline, all times are an hour off.

Please be at the pool at least 15 minutes ahead of your child's scheduled warm up time so we can get you organized and stretched.  Carmody pool is located at 2200 South Old Kipling Street Lakewood, CO 80227.  The best way to find the pool coming from the South is to go I-25 North to Hampden (US 285) and head west to Wadsworth Blvd Exit.  Go North on Wadsworth to Morrison Road, and go left, or West about 2 miles.  Go right or North on Old Kipling St, and head up the big hill.  At the top of the hill, you will see the Carmody Center on the right, before you get to Jewell Avenue.  The pool is the structure that looks like an airplane hangar.  As always, let me know if you have any questions.

FALFINS TEAM TRIP HAS BEEN CHANGED TO GRAND JUNCTION - IMPORTANT

Hi All,

The Falfins had been planning a team trip to Fort Collins for the FAST Long Course Open June 24-26th.  Due to problems finding transportation and sufficient hotel rooms for all who planned to attend, we have made the decision to cancel this trip and plan to attend the Grand Junction Invitational June 17-19th instead.  We apologize ahead of time for any inconvenience this may cause, and hope that you will be able to reschedule to attend this great competitive opportunity.  While this will be a team trip in which the kids will be encouraged to attend on the bus, families can attend as well and will be responsible for their own arrangements.  The sign up deadline for all swimmers is Monday May 23rd regardless of whether you decide to go on the bus or as a family.  The bus is limited to 30 passengers, so we will be accepting entries on a first come first serve basis.

The group that will travel by bus will leave on Thursday June16, arriving in Grand Junction that night.  On the Monday return trip we will be stopping in Glenwood Canyon to do a whitewater raft trip down the Colorado River.  Anyone who goes out as a family can join us out and back, or can again make their own arrangements. The water should be spectacular at both the brand new Mesa State College complex and in the canyon, so don’t miss this trip.  We will be cancelling practice for Seniors and Silvers for that weekend (including Monday) so these groups can attend the meet. Blues swimmers are also encouraged to attend this trip, but we will have practice as usual for those Blues who cannot attend.  Dynamo swimmers are not recommended for this trip, but if you are going out with an older sibling on a family trip, see your coach and see what they think about you attending.

The trip will cost approximately $280 per attendee (we will know the precise amount as we get closer) and will include the cost of transportation, lodging, rafting, coaching, and chaperones. Meet entry fees are not included in this price. Each athlete will need to bring a lunch and snacks for the first day, and we recommend they bring $15-25 per day for food (Less on Thurs and Mon).  The hotel we are staying at has a hot made to order breakfast each day, and microwaves and refrigerators in the rooms, so we will be able to keep food costs fairly reasonable. We will need at least 30 kids to sign up to make this trip cost effective, and we will have room for many more if necessary.  We will need anywhere from 4-6 chaperones for this trip, depending on athlete numbers, and if you volunteer to help, your trip will be paid for.

Other details regarding the raft trip, room arrangements, and final costs will be available in the next couple of weeks, but if you would like to attend, get signed up as soon as possible

If you do wish to volunteer as a chaperone, let Mike (963-8355 or mikes@falfins.org)   or Anthony (210-8047 or anthonyb@falfins.org) know by the 25th of May.
