Tryout Information
What else to know/bring:
- Please meet in the main gym prior to each session. During some
practices we will be working out at the track or in the weight room.
- Be EARLY.
- If you are a parent picking up a player, the pick-up time is 10-15
minutes after the session ends. This gives the players time to take
down nets, if necessary, stretch and gather their gear.
- Wear comfortable athletic attire and knee pads.
- If you have volleyball shoes, bring those as well as
running/cross-training shoes.
- Bring plenty of water and make sure you aren't coming to practice on
an empty stomach. It is hot in the gym and we will be working hard.
- If you have injuries or a medical condition, please let us know
before practice begins.
- Please come to each session with a positive attitude and be prepared
to give 100%.

Basic Tryout Information
Before any player will be allowed to tryout, all paperwork must be submitted and approved by Linda Garlan, Fairview Athletic Secretary.
The packet of forms is available in the Fairview office and on this website in the "Handouts" section. All forms must be completely filled out with parent and player signatures in the proper locations. In addition, an Athletic Physical Exam form must be completed by your doctor and turned in to the Athletic Office. Your doctor should have this form - but do check before going to your appointment.
The first day of tryouts is Monday, August 13th. Times are posted in the calendar section. Players need to attend all tryout sessions. As soon as teams are chosen, they will start practicing.
Proper attire is required. T-shirts, shorts and good court shoes (or volleyball shoes) are a must. Kneepads are recommended.
Tank tops, cropped tops and jean shorts are not appropriate for athletic participation.
Bring plenty of water in a plastic bottle with a tight fitting lid. 32 oz. of water per tryout session is a recommended amount.
The current plan for the 2007 season is to carry five teams:
Varsity: 10 or more players
Jr. Varsity: 10 or more players
Sophomore: 12 players
Freshman Red: 12 players
Freshman White: 12 players
