JANUARY 2007

Dear Packer Participant;

My name is Mike Sabatine and I am the new president of the organization. I have run the Flag Football organization the past three years and been on the Board the past three years as well. I have had a daughter in the Cheer program for the past seven or so (it has flown by). I am looking forward to moving an already great organization to the next level.

Your Board has been busy already this season. We have had numerous discussion regarding expansion and deemed it not possible for 2007. This was after the most extensive effort toward this end to date. We felt that we could not do it properly for this season, but have learned enough to put us in a better position for 2008. We'll see!!

Additionally, we have chosen our Head Football Coaches for Contact. Dave Robbins returns for A. His knowledge and experience (he has coached at all levels of Packers as well as the high school ranks) is invaluable. We have two new guys in Chris Barker and Mike Pesce for C and B respectively. Both have been assistants last year and coached at high school levels in their past. The Board believes these men are well-qualified from a football standpoint to teach your kids the finer points of the game, but also understand the age group mentality with which they are dealing.

They will be putting together their staffs over the next few weeks. I welcome any parent to contact me if they might be interested in assisting. We believe that the more fathers in the program, the better. These assistant jobs are truly open to anyone.

We owe a fond thanks to Coach Kim Bartela and Coach Matt Siegel. Both have given great service as Heads to the Packer organization. Kim actually served for over 20 years!!

Our cheer Head coach candidates will be interviewed this week. I will report more on that as it develops.

Our registration wil be held on Feb 6th at Perinton Starbucks 6:30-8:30pm. We felt you all might like a top-notch refreshment while standing in line this year. Please see the website for the forms, instructions and other details.
