Fairfield Pop Warner and the Fairfield Giants are affiliated with Pop Warner Little Scholars, Inc. (PWLS), a non-profit national organization that provides youth football and cheer & dance programs for participants in 41 states and several countries around the world.
Fairfield Pop Warner is run by the Fairfield Junior Football Program, Inc., a non-profit, donor-supported organization staffed by volunteers. Fairfield Pop Warner is in its 40th year and has nearly 400 football players and cheerleaders ranging in age from 7 to 15 years old in its programs.
Each season near the end of August, the Fairfield Giants host the First Pop Warner game played in the nation at the Sullivan Bowl. Named for Fairfield`s former First Selectman, John F. Sullivan, the Bowl includes a game against another Southern Connecticut team at each of the following divisions: Mitey-Mite (Team 1 and Team 2), Jr. Pee Wee (Team 1 and Team 2), Pee Wee, Jr. Midgets, and Midgets.
