We are pleased to announce the following two programs for players in the EYHA:
The PDP was designed specifically for EYHA as a way of tracking and rewarding efforts of players. All EYHA players are eligible and there is no direct cost to participate. There is no need to sign up for the program, as all registered players will be tracked by the Assistant Hockey Director. Players will be awarded points throughout the 2012-2013 season for participation in hockey related activities. Points will be assigned as follows: 1.) Attendance at practice 1 point 2.) Attendance at regular season games ½ point 3.) Attendance at exhibition games 1 point 4.) Attendance at Euclid open skate 3 points 5.) Attendance at EYHA skills clinics (power skating, stick handling, goalie clinics, etc) 5 points Attendance at games, practices and skills clinics will be recorded by individual coaches. Any player attending and participating in Euclid open skate will receive points if they file their paperwork. The responsibility lies with the parent to complete the “5,000 shot/PDP sheets” available for download online or in the EYHA coaches office. The player at each age level with the most points will receive a prize at the end of the year. The player within the association with the most points overall will receive a grand prize to be determined by the EYHA board. The second program is the 5,000 shot challenge. This program will be monitored by the parents of each player. The goal is for each player to take 5,000 shots at home during the season (starting September 17th). The parents can track these on the “5,000 shot/PDP sheets” in the coaches office. Any player completing the challenge by March 15th 2013 will be recognized and receive a certificate at the yearend banquet. Please complete one “5,000 shot/PDP” sheet at the end of every month for each child you have in the program. We’ve created these incentive programs to help motivate our players to become better players and accept responsibility for their success in ice hockey. In order for us to consistently field competitive teams, we must all work hard to ensure our players have every opportunity to improve and succeed. Both of these programs can be done at little to no cost. All you need is a net or tarp, pucks, tennis ball or smart ball, and a hockey stick, & gloves. Players can use space in the garage or driveway. Any questions can be directed to me through email at joe.primiano@eyha.net. Thank you and good luck!
