Friday, October 3 Transport - 2003/04 Season
Given the distances that we have to travel for some Away games we believe that transport arrangements are an essential part of the Club. To remove any confusion on transport we have produced the following guidelines. 1. The club will endeavour to provide transport (usually a minibus) for the players to travel to away matches. A reasonable match fee (usually £5 per player) will be made, payable to the club. 2. Should the club have to hire a minibus from a commercial hire company, a match fee will be charged. 3. When the club, for whatever reason, has to call upon parents to provide transport for the players in private cars, the car driver will be entitled to the £5 charge. 4. When a parent chooses to take in their car a player who had booked a place in the minibus, the club will be entitled to the charge as if the player had travelled in the minibus. 5. The club will not reimburse the cost of petrol for private cars. 6. Space will be allocated to players first and then if there are seats available they will be offered to parents. 7. It is strongly recommended that players do not drive themselves to Away games. 8. Players will not be permitted to drive their own cars with other players as passengers. It is important to explain that the Club do not intentionally set the fees in order that they can make money out of the exercise. If there are any surplus funds they are generally very small and appear on the Club accounts. These Club accounts are presented at the AGM held in September. |
