Contact details for purchasing kit – UK based
There are some fantastic shops in the UK for buying kit....there are also some poor shops!

Over the next week I will list shops I have used and can recommend in the Links menu

Keep watching!

Contact details for purchasing kit – USA based
In general you will always pay significantly less for equipment in America – see real example below. When calculating the price all of the sites below will show you the price of the equipment (shipping is calculated based on the contents of your online basket). When importing equipment into the UK you need to add approx. 25% for tax and duties to the total cost of the equipment and shipping (see example below). Even when adding on these extra costs you will generally find that the equipment is cheaper than buying within the UK. The Duty and Taxes are normally payable when the equipment is delivered to your address.

Greater efficiency of the shipping cost is gained when several items are ordered. Providing the equipment you require is available it generally arrives within one week from ordering.

Example:         Mission RMx Skates         $150
                Shipping:                 $60
                Total                        $210

                Duty/Taxes        25% of $210 = $52
                Total price for Skates $262

To convert dollar to sterling divide the total dollar amount by the latest exchange rate. In this example it would be $262/1.5667, which equals £167.23. In the UK these skates would cost approx. £250, a saving of £83.

A web site for converting $ to £ can be found at www.xe.com

Listed below are very competitive web sites. I have used the first 2 companies and they have been excellent with price and delivery. Delivery has generally been within 3 days of ordering.

Hockey Monkey                www.hockeymonkey.com
Epuc                        www.epuc.com
1800 FaceOff                www.1800faceoff.com
Hockey Giant                 www.hockeygiant.com

Please note that even though buying from America is the most cost effective (as at August 2002) it is always worth checking with the Customs and Excise National Help Line on 0845 010 9000 This will then give you piece of mind that the duty/taxes percentage is correct.

It is your responsibility to check the full prices before ordering....Storm and the Webmaster can take no responsibility for any mistakes!

List of manufacturer websites
When looking for equipment it is worth checking on these web sites as they often have on-line catalogues so that you can check it’s what you want before you buy.
