Weather Policy

The following weather policy will be followed for ANY GAME PLAYED AT EASTWOOD LITTLE LEAGUE.

RAIN:
Game cancellations will be made through voicemail at Eastwood Little League by 4:30. If it is not on the website, don't take that to mean games are being played as usual. It may simply mean the webmistress is away from her computer.

MANAGERS NEED TO CONTACT PLAYERS WHEN GAMES ARE CANCELLED.

COLD WEATHER: ALL GAMES WILL BE CANCELLED IF the temperature is below 40 degrees with wind chill.

TORNADO WATCH: Games will be played unless the weather changes.

TORNADO WARNING: ALL GAMES WILL BE CANCELLED.

SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH: Games will be played unless the weather changes.

SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING: ALL GAMES WILL BE CANCELLED.

LIGHTNING:
The Skyscan will be used when weather is questionable at the fields. The Field Directors will keep track of the Skyscan. If lightning is detected with the Skyscan within the 3-8 mile range, the field director will wait for the Skyscan to hit three times within 30 seconds and Blow the Siren.

When the Siren is blown, EVERYONE is to go to his or her car immediately. When being sent to your cars, that DOES NOT mean that the games are being cancelled so please do not leave the park; chances are the games will resume play.

After being sent to the car, the Field Director will then wait 15 minutes. If it has been clear for 15 minutes, games may resume. If lightning hits within the 15 minute waiting period, the 15 minutes start over. At that time, the Field Directors on duty will determine if it looks like the storm will be passing within a reasonable time to resume games.
