The River City Volleyball Club regrets that we are in this situation with the U16 teams. We realize that the status of some individuals will change. We apologize for that. We feel that it was a necessary adjustment for the best interest of all involved. For those who have had a change in status, we are offering to allow those players the opportunity to stay involved in the club as practice players. This would be for a straight $200 fee. RIVER CITY PRACTICE BEGINS THIS SUNDAY, DECEMBER 6, AT HARRISON HIGH SCHOOL PLEASE NOTE PRACTICE TIMES AS WELL AS THE MANDATORY PLAYER AND PARENT MEETING TIMES TO ORDER APPAREL AND MAKE PAYMENTS. 11:00-1:00 U16 PRACTICE WITH MEETING AT 1:00 1:00-3:00 U15, U17, U18 PRACTICE WITH MEETING AT 12:00 3:00-5:00 U12, U13 PRACTICE WITH MEETING AT 2:00 5:00-7:00 U14 PRACTICE WITH MEETING AT 4:00 What you need to know about the Player/Parent Meeting.... * Please bring any uniform that was used for tryout purposes * Returning players - please know your uniform number if you did not return it from last season * All players are to bring two checks - one for apparel and one for your club fees * All apparel purchases are optional with the exception of new players to the club. New players must purchase a warmup, backpack and spandex. * Additional apparel will be available for purchase including sweatshirts, tee shirts, etc.. * New players will be required to make a refundable $100 deposit for uniforms. * All players must make their first payment of club dues. This will be for 1/2 of the club dues for your age group. It would be very beneficial if you could pay the entire club fee at this time. The second payment is due no later than Jan 3rd. Your daughter will not be eligible to practice with the team or attend any tournaments if the your second payment is not made in full by this date.

All players trying out for the club are required to wear a numbered jersey. Please wear the same number jersey (preferably the same jersey) for all three tryout dates. This will help coaches recognize players more easily.

Club Fees for Upcoming 2009-10 Season
Club fees for the upcoming season are as follows: U12 thru U15 - $750 U16 thru U18 - $850 Extended season will be offered for U16 thru U18. Additional fees apply. Those fees will be communicated through your coach. Payment of these fees will be explained at the opening meeting prior to the tryouts on November 8th. First year players will also have a $100 deposit for uniforms - the deposit will be refunded when you uniform is returned at the end of the year. First year players will also be required to purchase a River City warmup top and bottom along with a River City back pack - total cost for these items is $100. The player will get to keep these items.

Determining Your Age Group for the Upcoming Year
We are getting a few questions regarding which age group your daughter will play for the upcoming year. The following is how you determine your correct age group: Take your age as of September 1st of 2009 - add one year to your age as of that date - this is the "U" team you play for. For example, if my daughter is 15 as of September 1st, I add one year (15+1=16) - my daughter would play U16. Please show up for your correct age group tryout. We do not allow girls to "play up" an age group - the River City coaches and Board will decide if any individual will be allowed to play up.

River City tryouts are right around the corner. Tryouts will be held again this year at Harrison High School in Evansville on November 8th, 15th and 22nd. Tryout times for November 8th will be as follows: 11:00 - 1:00 U18 & U17 1:00 - 3:00 U16 & U14 3:00 - 5:00 U15 & U13 5:00 - 7:00 U12 The above times are for November 8th tryouts only. We may have to adjust times based on the number of girls trying out by age group. Please continue to check the website for updated times. Please arrive at least 1/2 hour before your scheduled tryout time to register and attend a short player/parent meeting. Good luck the rest of your school season and see you on the 8th!

River City Tryout and Registration Information
Anyone who will be trying out for Evansville River City Volleyball for the 2009-2010 season should register online using the links below. This registration is required before tryouts. Please do NOT pay the registration fee. The club will pay this fee for all club players after teams have been selected. All tryout participants should also fill out the EVRC application form and new players should bring a copy of your birth certificate to the tryouts. 2009/2010 Hoosier Region USAV Membership Renewal Notice
ATTENTION RETURNING RIVER CITY VOLLEYBALL PLAYERS You should be getting an email notice that your USAV membership is about to expire. If you plan on playing again this year, please go online and register for the upcoming season. You can do this anytime after September 1st. You must be registered this year prior to tryouts. DO NOT PAY THE $25 MEMBERSHIP FEE WHEN YOU REGISTER - THIS IS PART OF THE CLUB FEES. If you are going to be a new member of the club this year, we will be posting instructions on this website in the next few weeks on how to register. New River City Volleyball Director
River City Volleyball is pleased to announce that Julie Sellers has accepted the position of Director for our club. Julie has been a long time volleyball player and coach in the Evansville area and currently coaches Harrison High School. Julie is a big supporter of not only local volleyball, but also River City Volleyball. Her dedicated effort will continue to allow success and growth within our club. Please welcome Julie to her new role.

Evansville River City recommends that you take a look at the list of colleges by clicking on link above and creating a list of colleges you would like to visit. (This is true for those planning on playing volleyball in college or not.) You might want to talk to your coach for some help.
From that list, you should drop the college coaches an email about your interests, along with a tournament schedule and/or a video tape.

Fee Structure
* 2008/2009 RATES...
U12 thru U14 - $750.
U15 thru U18- $850.
Season will run from Early December to the first week of March. Teams may elect to play an exteded season. Teams that elect to do so will be charged an additional fee to cover those expenses.
EVRC is a non-profit corporation. A fee is charged to cover expenses incurred with operating the club. Open Team Participants must remember that going to a major end-of-the-season event such as the USA-JO Championships or the AAU Championships will add a substantial charge. (approx $8-900.)
Payments for teams are due as follows:
November 9th- Tryout/Camp Fee $50
December 7th- Refundable Deposit $100** (unless still on file from prior year)
December 7th- 1/2 Regular Season fees due
January 4th - second half of Season fees due
**Deposit cover equipment (uniform tops, etc) and requirement for team responsibilities (tournament refs, unexcused practices or tournaments, etc)
All new players will be required to purchase a River City warm up jacket and pants along with a back pack. All returning players may reuse their warmups and back pack from last year, as they will be the same this year. Cost for the warmup and backpack is $100. These will be ordered at the Parent/Player meeting on December 7th.
A LATE FEE OF $25 WILL BE APPLIED AND PLAYER COULD LOSE PRACTICE AND/OR GAME TIME IF PRIOR ARRANGEMENTS NOT MADE.
It is the responsibility of the parent/guardian to insure that all membership fee payments are received on or before due dates. Fees must be paid on a timely basis in order for the club to operate.
Unpaid fees will result in a player being withheld from participation in tournaments and practices. All fees submitted should be in form of a check or money order made payable to EVRC Volleyball and mailed to: EVRC VOLLEYBALL, PO BOX 4466, EVANSVILLE IN 47724
*Please do NOT give money to coaches as their job is to coach.
**ALWAYS REMEMBER TO WRITE PLAYERS NAME ON CHECKS OR MONEY ORDERS**
A $50.00 fee is charged for returned checks
Items included in Fee:
* USA Registration: Hoosier Region registration.
* Use of Uniform Shirts: Two numbered uniforms.
* Entry Fees: Teams that choose to go to more tournaments than their budgets allow will have an added charge.
* Coaches: To insure quality coaching, our coaches are paid. This payment is minimal compared to the time and commitment of our coaches for a three to six-month season.
* Administration Expenses: Telephone, postage, accounting, printing, and other general office expenses.
* Practice Facilities and Equipment: Each player has a built-in allocation for a share of our expenses for renting practice facilities, balls, and other necessary equipment.
What is Not Covered?
* Transportation: Travel to tournaments is not covered in fees. We encourage ride sharing for tournaments and practices.
* Meals: There are always concession stands, and of course, restaurants near-by. You can also pack a cooler with food and drinks for the whole day. Most all facilities allow you to have a cooler in your car.
* Rooms: For the overnight tournaments it is best to try to double up with team members and their parents to cut expenses.
PLEASE NOTE: Any member leaving the club due to dismissal or their election to leave will not receive a refund of their membership fee.
