Sunday, July 12 ASA STATE CHAMPIONSHIP RUNNER UP After a long week in Colorado and short rest, Pride was ready for another tourney. They took the fields at Rose Mofford on Friday with a 12-0 victory over the Lil Saints and a 10-4 victory over the Thunderhawks. This set them up for one game on Saturday. It was a close game and Pride was able to hold on and win with a score of 4-3 over Scorpio. Sunday morning we faced the Hotshots in the semis. We took a tough loss of 0-9 that put us in the losers bracket where we face Scorpio for a second time. Pride bats were hot and beat Scorpio with a score of 8-1. With a few hours to rest before the Championship game the ladies relaxed and got ready to face the Hotshots for the title. Pride bats had cooled down and only scored 1 run. The Hotshots advanced and won The State Championship title. Pride finsihed as The State Championship Runner Up with a 4-2 record. Sunday, July 5 ASA COLORADO FIREWORKS Pride travelled to Colorado for the ASA Fireworks. The girls played 5 practice games finishing 3-1-1. The girls then went 3-1 in pool play taking the number two seed. As the girls geared up for bracket play on Friday they were greeted with dark clouds, rolling thunder and lots of rain that postponed the start. Due to the bad Weather on Friday and Saturday the losers bracket was eliminated and game times were cut squeezing the tournament into a one day event. Pride went 3-1 in bracket play losing to the Tournament Champions OR Northwest Blaze finishing in an impressive 5th place out of 56 teams. Our ladies played a total of 12 games. Their record 9-2-1. Great job ladies and way to represent Arizona in Colorado!
