The Nursery: Building the Future
The Eveswell nursery runs every Saturday morning in the Newport Velodrome, which is within the Spytty International Sports complex. Please call 07786 626706 for training times.
Who Can Join?
Eveswell welcomes any Boy or Girl between the ages of 5 and 7 years, they just need to want to play football!
What is the Nursery about?
Eveswell believes the Nursery squad is the foundation upon which the football club rests. Your child will learn basic football skills as well as the importance of team play. The training will develop in time so that your child will be given an opportunity to become part a squad playing against other teams from the under 7 age group. The coaching is delivered by FAW coaches and is very much skills based, we believe in giving the child as much time on the ball as possible. They will learn how to conrol the ball, pass, beat players, shoot and tackle in a fun based environment.
Coach's Commitment

„X Develop good sportsmanship and team-driven behaviour.
„X Develop passion and excitement for the game.
„X Ensure that each child enjoys playing soccer has fun!

This philosophy has already produced some excellent teams and outstanding indiviual players. More importantly, the Children are learning to mix with others from outside of their immediate school and home environment, making new friends with a common enjoyment of football that will last.

NOVEMBER 5TH: MALPAS 2 EVESWELL 0
the boys did really well today against a very large and well organised malpas side and dispite going two goals down by half time, they competed all over the park and with a bit of luck could have grapped a goal or two themselves. Note to mum and dad: try to get to the games in time to allow us to get prepared and give the coach a chance to organised the team, thanks.

SUNDAY 29TH OCTOBER: EVESWELL 1 GAER 0
Another great game between two evenly matched teams. Eveswell had the majority of the play and created lots of good chances but some great keeping by the gaer keeper kept the scores level at half time. The second half was very much the same, Eveswell pushing for a goal and Gaer defending well. Whenever Gaer did break they found Ellis "the rock" and "Mr Cool" Ricardo ready to return the ball. Eventually the passing paid off and the good ball from Rhys found Lou unmarked in front of goal who calmly slipped it past the keeper.

SUNDAY 15TH OCTOBER: EVESWELL 0 CIVIL SERVICE 5
Not the best display from the boys, following three successive wins the boys seemed to have been off their game this week> Credit to CSC, they were a well organised team and played some nice football. We look forward to the return game in the new year.

SUNDAY OCT 8TH 2006: CAERLEON 1 EVESWELL 2
A another really great display in a very evenly matched game. Caerleon started strongly and were soon on the scoreboard thanks to a fine long range effort. the Eveswell boys rooled their sleeves up and got stuck in. Jay Bowen was having a great game and one of his mazy runs finally resulted in a superb equaliser just before half time. The second half continued in the same way with both teams going all out for the win. With minutes to go, another fine effort from "Bows" took a cruel deflection and rolled into the empty net to secure the victory. Well played both teams.

SEPTEMBER'S GAMES
NEW UNDER 7'S UP AND RUNNING:
After months of training (well, two weeks to be honest) the new U7's finally took to the field. Cromwell kindly invited us to play a pre season friendly, so borrowing a kit our newest recruits rolled up to begin their journey into footballing stardom. 40 minutes later and it was all over, the young starlets of Eveswell sneaked a well earned 1-0 win thanks a great solo effort from Sam Bowen, continuing the Bowen dinesty in Newport. So, with that behind them, the team will be anxious to get going in the league, which is due to start on the 3rd September.
SUNDAY 3RD SEPTEMBER: HOME V ROGERSTONE:POSTPONED
Weeks of preparation get washed away as the rains come down and the game is called off.
SUNDAY 1OTH SEPTEMBER: AWAY V DUFFRYN: WON 4- 0
This is it, "rag bag rovers" take to the field for their first competitive game at Duffryn. Maybe it was our unique formation of 1-1-6 that caught them by surprise as we streaked to a 4-0 half time lead? The second half saw us consolidate the lead and a strong defensive display, keeping a determined Duffryn side at bay to record the win with goals from Rhys and a great hat trick from Louis.
SUNDAY 17TH SEPTEMBER: HOME V RIVERSIDE: LOST 3-1
Obviously, having to play the home game away confused not only the coach but also the team as they were soon 2-0 down to a strong Riverside team. The second half saw the rag bags get their game together and pull a goal back through George before a goalmouth scramble lead to a late Riverside decider. A superb first half goalkeeping display by Ellis "the destroyer" Chapman was the highlight, but all the boys continue to improve week on week.
SUNDAY 24TH SEPTEMBER: AWAY V CORRIES B: WON 1-0
Great game played in the right spirit by two teams out to enjoy themselves. Straight from the kick off, Eveswell poured forward. The ball broke and from distance, Louis hit an unstoppable shot; 1-0 within 2 minutes!. Playing a new system of 3-2-1 against a really enthusiastic Corries team, the defence held firm until just before half time when Corries got a deserved equaliser. The second half saw Eveswell attack for most of the half and it was no surprise when Ethan hit a great shot which turned out to be the winner. Well played both teams.
