2012 Spring Swing a HUGE Success

Evergreen Little League would like to thank everyone involved in making our 3rd Annual Spring Swing a success. 14 teams participated this year, 7 in the Minors division and 7 in the Majors division. Evergreen Little League lost one game the entire tournament, only becuase our two majors teams faced eachother in the championship game.

A big thank you goes out to NWUA for their work as umpires as well as our own volunteer umpires. We couldn't have played without your help.

Also, thank you to all the teams that came out to play:

Lacamas Lazers                Lacamas Lightning
Lacamas Flame                 Columbia Angles/Rockies
Columbia AstroSox          Willamette Twilight Room Purple Ninjas
Columbia Angels              Willamette LADCO Reds
Lewis River Angels          Glenwood Majors Softball
Battle Ground Panthers    Evergreen Fireballs
Evergreen Huskies           Evergreen Thundercats

We look forward to seeing everyone back in 2013 for the 4th Annual Spring Swing.

Field Clean-Up Cancelled Due to Chemical Spraying

The County will be spraying the fields with Roundup Friday and Saturday. For everyones safety please do not have any games or practice on Friday or Saturday at the field. We are also going to cancel field cleanup on Saturday and reschedule for next Saturday. Hopefully the weather will be better by then.
As a result, there will obviously be no pre-season games at HMP this weekend or practices for any of the divisions on the fields.  Most of the divisions and teams have alternate practice field options on their HMP days. If you do not have a regularly scheduled field to practice on, all of the school fields that we normally use are unscheduled after 3:00 on Saturdays. Please work together on figuring out when and where you might hold practice or a scrimage game.  We are supposed to have some drying weather this afternoon and tomorrow followed by the nicest day this season on Saturday (if they have the forecast even close to right).  I would also suggest that if you have a pre-season game scheduled for this weekend (Majors and AA Minor BB) or are looking for a field to hold a practice or practice game on, talk to the other managers involved.  At least one of you should have a reasonable field and backstop available to play on at a school field.  If you do, please make sure that the kids stay behind the backstops while their team is up to bat or on the 'bench' so no one gets hit by a foul ball.
If the fields get dried up and into decent playing condition, we will try and get the practice games in next week as scheduled in AA and Majors.  We'll keep you up to date as the weather allows and we'll work around the field clean up next weekend to try and play as many practice games as possible.
Thanks.....and if any of you had been praying for rain, please stop.
Gene
