Baseball Project
Baseball Project What is happening on the baseball field? Due to the erosion of soil and the drainage system our dugouts were becoming unstable. Also our dugouts were very close to home plate putting our players and staff at risk during games. We put a plan into action to move our bleachers towards the concession stand and replace all the wood on them while constructing new dugouts at the end of the bleachers to open up the space giving players more room. God has put together a great group of giving people to help us accomplish this task in a timely fashion starting with Jerry Fodale’s men knocking down dugouts, moving bleachers, fixing up the concession stand and so much more. Bob and Georgiana Violet owners of a commercial landscaping business put their crew to work on removing the old wood and putting on the new wood to complete the stands as well as putting on some finishing touches on the field dirt and sod to get it game ready. Chad Parker with Bulldog Waste, Michael Harrelson of Harrelson Materials Management and Louisiana Environmental for donating dumpsters. The booster club President Todd and Kristy Nichols went to work with a group of parents freshening up our locker room painting lockers, walls, bathrooms, the shower floors and new carpet for the locker room. People behind the seen making this happen are John Kimmer who had the presentation drawn up for the school board and point man for getting wood donated from Home Depot for the bleachers. John has spent countless hours on putting this project together. Larry Crane has obtain donated cinder for the dugouts and walls, helped get lights put up in our batting cage, as well as organizing and seeing things to the finish. Arnie Castellano has put many hours into the planning and strategy of completing this project. Last but not least those that want to remain nameless who have donated money so that our baseball team could have a great place to play. We don’t want to forget those faithful men that we always count on Scott Jones and Dick Monette who work tirelessly keeping things operating on the baseball field. Evangel Baseball wants to say Thank You for all your help in doing things first class. May God bless your generosity!
