Etobicoke Wildcats: Welcome

Dear Athletes and Parents:

It is with some sadness but great excitement that I announce that the Etobicoke Wildcats Volleyball Club will be joining forces with the Etobicoke Titans Volleyball Club in September 2010.  This decision was made for the betterment of volleyball in the Etobicoke region.  The reduction in clubs will provide athletes with less worry of which tryout to attend and therefore which team to play for.  This attempt will also help to provide the athletes with a better opportunity to succeed not only at this level but at the post secondary level as well.  The Wildcats decided that this move would be beneficial to all parties.  This will allow me to focus more on the development of athletes and less on the organization and facilitation of 4 different teams.

I would personally like to thank everyone for their dedication, hard work and support over the past 5 years.  It is because of you that the Wildcats grew to the success that it did.

At this time, Blair McDonald and myself will continue to head coach in the Etobicoke Titans Volleyball Club.  Michael Wahbi’s coaching decision has not been determined at this time but he is still interested in being involved in the volleyball community.  Alice Rivers and Gillian Agres may continue as coaches in the future but have decided to take a year of absence.

I hope that you will all consider trying out for your respective teams in September.  I assure you that all of my efforts are being put into ensuring that the athletes have the same experience with the Titans as they had with the Wildcats.  If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at rrivers2009@yahoo.ca or David Pagniello at david.pagniello@sympatico.ca.
