Congratulations to all the football and cheer teams of El Segundo Youth
All our football teams made it to the PCC Playoffs! Our Mitey Mite team was eliminated in 2nd round and our Jr. Pee Wee team made is all the way to the finals! It was an outstanding season for all our football teams.
Our cheer teams competed at the Pacific Coast Conference Cheer Competition on November 14th. Our Flag team brought home 3rd place, Jr. Pee Wee - 2nd place, Pee Wee - 2nd place, and our Mitey Mite and Midget Cheer squads were victorious as division champions!
The Mitey Mite, Jr. Pee Wee, Pee Wee, and Midget squads all travelled to Chino Hills for the USA Regional Cheerleading competition. All four squads brought home 1st place and walked away with bids to the USA Jr. Nationals Cheerleading Championship. These squads will continue to prepare for nationals throughout January and February. They will then head to Disney's California Adventure to see how they do against other cheer teams across the country on February 27/28, 2010.
El Segundo Youth has had yet another successful season in both football and cheer. Thank you to all our coaches for your dedication and love of the game. The lessons we teach these children will carry them well into their adult years. Parents thank you for your continued support of your child and putting them in our program. For our 8th graders we look forward to seeing you at the high school, whether it be on the football field or some other sport, we wish you all the best as you enter high school next fall. We certainly hope you come back to the youth program as a football or cheer trainer to help continue to teach the values of determination, hardwork and teamwork are just some of the key elements to success.
I wish you all a wonderful, safe, and joyous holiday season. It's been a pleasure and honor being your Cheer Director and for some of you, your coach.
