Essex County Little League: Welcome
Welcome to the home of the Essex County Little League. This website offers information regarding its league.
The ECLL complex is located on Marsh Street in Tappahannock, Virginia in the County of Essex. Our league’s goal is to offer the children of Essex County the best possible baseball and softball experience. ECLL has operated its own facility for many, many years. All monies collected through registration fees, sponsorships, advertising and fundraising are reinvested in the baseball and softball programs and the ECLL facility. Through fundraising endeavors over the years, our facility was grown to operate five baseball and softball fields and very nice facilities to accommodate over 350 children and parents on any given Saturday during the Spring.
The Essex County Little League is governed by a Board of Directors who volunteers their time to the league annually. All coaches, managers, umpires and concession workers are volunteers. The volunteer support from parents and the community is essential to the long-term success of this organization. Many baseball and softball enthusiasts from Essex County have volunteered their knowledge and experience to teach future ball players the game and love of the sport. Through their knowledge, we can offer the best teaching fundamentals of the game to our children and over the years have produced many successful students in both academics and athletics. We hope to provide a strong foundation of sportsmanship, athletic skills, commitment and responsibility to the children that participate in the little league experience.
Our league consists of twelve different play levels. It consists of T-Ball to Big League Baseball and Softball with Minor, Major, Junior, and Senior Baseball and Softball divisions. All of our divisions have various levels of play from beginners to experienced ball players.
Little League participation is an experience and memories that many people will last with them a lifetime.
"The essential elements of character building and ethics in sports are embodied in the concept of sportsmanship."
