Haiti Recovery Effort: How Little Leagues Can Get Involved
A letter from Little League International on how you can help the relief efforts in Haiti...
January 19, 2010
Dear Little League Friends,
A number of local Little Leagues have inquired regarding support for the relief efforts in Haiti, as a result of the devastating earthquake there.
Some have asked about donating to Little Leagues in Haiti. However, there are currently no active local Little League programs there. Nevertheless, Little League International encourages its volunteers and leagues to donate to reputable and worthy relief organizations, if they are able to, because of the level of great destruction and suffering in Haiti.
As the only youth sports program with a Federal Charter of Incorporation, we suggest donations be sent to the Clinton Bush Haiti Fund, which was established - at the request of U.S. President Barack Obama - by former Presidents Bill Clinton and George W. Bush.
Please visit the Clinton Bush Haiti Fund website for complete information on how to donate.
Sincerely,
Little League International

We have a few bats and gloves that were left behind. If you think that any of these are yours, contact Laura Smith at lidje@pacbell.net.

DISTRICT 36 CHAMPIONS
DISTRICT 36 CHAMPIONS! Congratulations to the 11-12 and 9-10 year old El Segundo All Star teams who dominated in the All Star Tournament and captured the title of District 36 Champions! Both divisions hit the ground running and never looked back as they remained undefeated in the "winners" bracket. Their awesome defense and pitching kept the other leagues virtually hitless. Kudos to the coaching staff, parents, and fans for their great support. Both divisions have advanced to Sectionals, which started last weekend. We encourage the ESLL community to come out and cheer for our teams. The games are very exciting and lots of fun. 11-12 year old info: Lomita Little League26800 S.
