Required equipment
Many people have asked what the required equipment is for kids to play in this league. Each player must wear:
Helmet with face shield (wire grid or plexiglass)
Mouthpiece
Elbow protection
Gloves
Knee pads/shin guards
Skates
In addition, each player will need a stick (all wood is preferred since the plastic blades are not strong enough for game play)
Several other items are optional:
Girdle (helpful for younger kids who fall often)
Shoulder pads (this is non-contact, but incidental contact does occur)
Water bottle (Summer season is hot, and the kids need to drink lots of water)
All of these items are often available at used sports equipment stores.
