ERIN MILLS SOCCER CLUB COACHES REFERENCE: Archives and Other : SRSL AGM HIGHLIGHTS JAN 8.05
SRSL AGM HIGHLIGHTS JAN 8.05![]() |
Rule 3D
Teams must inform their District (PHSA via Clubhouse) and SRSL (directly and to the Clubhouse/Rep Director) of any changes to the team administration on record.
Includes phone numbers (home/cell) and email addresses.
Team will be subject to discipline if not completed within 7 days of change.
This is absolutely essential to ensure quality communications when schedule changes are needed.
Rule 3G (New)
Teams from the same club playing in the same division may not interchange players.
This is particularly important for U10 teams both playing in Premier entry level.
Rule 4B
Player books must be signed by the player (not an issue with us because PHSA won't stamp it if it isn't signed).
Players arriving late to a game must present their book to the opposing team during a stoppage in play before entering the field with the referee's permission.
Player's name must be entered onto the game sheet prior to play.
Rule 4D
Players may not transfer teams in the SRSL or any other league after July 31.
Rule 4F (New)
All (boys) teams that win the highest division in the SRSL are required to play in the Tom Dunleavy Memorial Tournament held on the first Sunday in October.
Failure to appear will draw discipline.
(One day there might be a girls version of this tournament)
Rule 4G (New)
Same as 3G above.
Rule 5D
Team officials who smoke while coaching their teams will draw discipline.
When this rule was put in place last year the scope included the entire game facility as well as before and after the game within the facility.
Rule 6C
Team officials must coach within 1 meter of their bench - team officials must not obstruct and/or obscure the view of the assistant referee.
This rule was expanded because a team official took exception to being run over by a linesperson who was looking the other way. A coach challenged this as assault.
Rule 6H
SRSL tried to reduce the number of tournaments/grad reserved dates you can block out from 3 to 2.
This was defeated. You can continue to block out 3 dates. Use your SRSL team registration/information form and update the tournament information. Deadline for this info is Mar 1 and should be sent directly to SRSL with a copy to the clubhouse and me. Get confirmation of receipt from SRSL.
There are a growing number of teams that are disappearing for 3 and 4 weeks at a time for overseas trips. Needless to say this creates a lot of grief in league scheduling. In future the period of time that can be blocked off at any one time may get restricted.
Rule 6P (New)
Teams/players who fail to have suspensions recorded in their player books by PHSA within 48 hours of decision will suffer added discipline ($50) per Appendix A.
Cards for PHSA processing should be handled by the clubhouse.
(May there be none in 2005)
Rule 8C
All player shirts must be identified by a unique and legible number 8" high on the shirt back that matches the game sheet presented. This includes the goalie.
This has been enforced by our local referee association, but was not a league rule in the past.
Rule 9C
Teams are to pay half of the game official fees in the event that a game does not start for a number of specific conditions outlined in Appendix A.
Rule 9F
All referees must have level 3 or better
All assistant referees must have level 4.
All game officials must be at least 2 years older than the team playing. Assistant referees 2 year age difference changed to - "where possible", but must be at least 14 years of age in the current season.
Rule 16A
SRSL's motion to ban call ups in League Cup play was defeated.
Ontario Cup eligibility rules were approved which allows carded call ups from a lower division team as long as the player only plays for one team in Cup play.
Rule 16C
Teams who play ineligible players in League Cup play will lose the game and draw discipline.
Rule 17F (New)
Requests to reschedule discipline hearings must be made within 72 hours of the hearing date.
One reschedule per case and a $75 admin fee will apply to any hearing rescheduled.
Game Official Fees
The new payment schedule was approved.
The Club will provide each team with their full SRSL season referee fees prior to your first home game. (Assuming your team account at the Club is in order)
All of these amendments will be included in your package (the official version) at the May SRSL Kick Off meeting. The head coach will be required to sign a waiver that says you have read, understood and accepted all of the information provided to you.
Team Head coaches are required to understand all of the rules and regulations of their respective leagues.
Ignorance and misunderstandings do not make a good defense in the SRSL (or any other league).
Managers are encouraged to be equally familiar with the details. Share as much with your team parents as you deem necessary.
