ON THE SUBJECT OF CUTTING PLAYERS (PARENTS) FROM REP TEAMS
The following serves to clarify some issues that impact the Club's Human Rights Policy.

We recognize that Coaches are faced with difficult decisions from time to time with the management of their teams.

Every youth player has the right to play at the Rep level provided they meet the skill expectations of the team and the standards of the Club Head Coach. The Coach maintains detailed records that illustrate each individual's skill level.

Occasionally Coaches find conflict with parents and are tempted to release a qualified player from the team because of negative behaviour by a parent.

Coaches are expected to take reasonable measures to correct poor parent behaviour to defend the atmosphere and cohesiveness of the Team. Such behaviour might include persistent negative and public admonishment of the Coach or his staff, abusive language and lack of respect to other players, parents or staff, conflict with coaching style or team plans established by a majority of parents, and other similar disruptive conditions.
Parent meetings one-on-one and, if necessary, full team parent meetings to air issues are considered reasonable efforts to resolve parent problems at the team level.

If the Coach is unable to resolve parent conflicts, and a player's participation is at risk because of the parent, the coach will refer the circumstances to the Rep Director. The issue will be brought before a Rep Committee and may include interviews with the Coach and the parent, both separately and together. The committee will serve to mediate a successful resolution.

The decision to release a player (or not) under these circumstances will be made by the Rep committee and the decision will be final.

This process is in place to protect the rights of the young people we serve who should not suffer without documented efforts to correct problems that arise.

The Rep Committee will consist of the Rep Director, Club Head Coach and Club Business Manager. Others may be invited as necessary on a case by case basis.
