Special Olympics
A neighbour of ours has a son who plays on the Special Olympic Baseball
Team. Special Olympics ball teams ( 6-50 yrs. old ) were playing in a fundraiser baseball
tournament against the Fire Fighters at the ball diamond in Waterford last
Saturday (July 19) and the coach forgot to pick up the team's bats. When
they returned to the diamond where they held the game to get the bats they
were gone - someone has picked them up and kept them. There were
approximately 15 bats and a new black bat carrying case (holds 10 bats).

We would like the fastball community to help Special Olympics by donating
any old bats they may have. Special Olympics is a very important part of
our community and should be supported as much as possible.

Please post this on the website and ask that anyone who is willing to donate
a bat to contact George Ryder at 519-583-3544 or email to gjryder@kwic.com

Let's be ball players and help these players - they too have the passion and
need our help.

Rule Change Regarding the use of Senior Player's
Due to a proposal by the Ohsweken Redmen to allow Mike Joseph to pitch for the Jarvis I.S.C. team and continue to pitch in the Erie League the following rule as been changed. Each team was contacted and were allowed to vote.

The old rule: 20. Each team is allowed 1 senior player but that player cannot be a pitcher.

The new rule: 20. Each team will be allowed 2 senior player's. One player shall be a positional player and the other player may be a pitcher.Any team will be allowed to use a senior pitcher during the season but that pitcher will not be allowed to pitch in the Erie League Tournament at the end of the season.

These player's will still have to be on the league roster to be allowed to play during the season.

If you have any questions please contact the Erie League President.

Sunday, June 6
Explanation Of New ISC Player Rule
I have had a couple of people ask about the new rule and were a little confused. I will try to explain it easier.

Each team is allowed to have 2 player's that are playing ISC ball. One player can be a pitcher and the other a positional player. You are not allowed 2 pitcher's or 2 positional player's, thay must be one of each. The positional player can play during the season and in the league tournament. But the pitcher may only pitch in the league and not in the league tournament. The pitcher cannot play in the league tournament even if he is not pitching.

Any team found violating this rule will be tossed from the league tournament.

Tuesday, June 8
League Mercy Rule
Due to a typing error the league mercy rule was not included in the handout to each team. The mercy rule for league play is 10 runs after 5 innings. For the league tournament it is 7 runs after 5 innings.

Thanks
