Encanto loses a dedicated volunteer

Ben Wilson a long time coach & volunteer to Encanto Little League passed on Saturday October 29th, 2011 after a sudden illness. He is survived by his wife Linda and his son Ben Wilson IV. He will always be remembered as the Coach with a big heart and the constant smile. He gave alot to our league in the 10+ years he was with us. He was always willing to take the kids out and practice with them. We will never forget you Benefly. Check out his Youtube video click here.

Encanto moves on to the Section 7 Little League tournament
Encanto has taken the District 66 title in the Little League division for the first time in many years. We played in the Section 7 tournament in District 41 @ Fletcher Hills Little League today we faced a tough Brawley team (District 22) and suffered our first loss of the tournament. District 66(Encanto) next plays at 3:30pm Sunday @ Fletcher Hills Little League. For the tournament bracket see the District 66 website.

Major Padres head to the Urban Initiative Jamboree in Los Angeles

Our Major division Padres are headed to the Urban Initiative Jamboree in Los Angeles on April 29th - May 1st. This is our second invitation the this event. The team will play on Friday, Saturday and possibly on Sunday.
We are accepting donations to help the families of the players attend this great event. If you would like to donate please feel free to stop by the snack bar and pick up an envelope or call Judy at 858-229-1174. We would like to be able to send the parents from the team to Los Angeles to cheer their sons and daughters on and maybe bring back a Jamboree Championship.

Our own Little Padre Park
Thanks to Randy McPhillips and many others, our little leaguers will have the opportunity to play on one of the best fields in the county. Pictures from the 2006 Little League Urban Jamboree in Williamsport, PA
Most of you dont know that in 2006 Encanto Little League was one of 10 leagues selected to participate in the 2006 Little League Urban Jamboree. The major division Padres was selected by Little League. Little League International flew the entire team, coaching staff and an umpire to Williamsport, PA. This was truly a once in a lifetime experience for the players, coaches and umpire. The fields were immaculate. These were the same fields the Little League World Series is played on. The team won 4 out of 5 games played in 2 days.
The Players: David Luna, Andres Lopez, Gabriel Hassoun and Max Garcia III, Benjamin Wilson IV, Cesar Galvez, Salvador Baca, Christopher LaChance, Francisco Tabanica, Daniel Haidley, Gilbert Romero, Jalen Lake.
The Coaches and Umpire: Manager Max Garcia, Coach Fidel D. Luna ,Coach David Galvez, Coach Benjamin Wilson and Volunteer Umpire Craig Canady. Also attending Team Mom Judy Flores.
