WHERE WE LIVE AND PLAY
FRIENDSHIP AND TEAMWORK
FRIENDSHIP
Friendships grow as teammates learn to depend on each other and when they achieve success. Development of proper work habits and perseverance builds mutual respect. Recognizing that teammates can be consistently counted on to give their best effort leads to trust. Loyalty is the result of going through tough times and passing the test together. Pride is the last step in forming friendship. In a few unique situations, a limited number of teams attain this special sense of pride, when their players combine the qualities of sincere enthusiasm, determination, intensity and conditioning and make a personal choice to place the needs of the team ahead of themselves. Such qualities are the foundations of true friendships. Through the leadership shown by their coaches, athletes learn to identify and exhibit those qualities both on and off the field. As a result, they will be helped in all future relationships.

TEAMWORK
Regardless of your age, the experience of being on a great team is priceless. It is something that will influence who you are for the remainder of your life. Few experiences can be as helpful in the growth of young athletes, as being part of a selfless group working toward a common goal.
Great teams are made up of athletes who have given up their quest for individual glory, who have willingly and wholeheartedly accepted the character traits of a team player and who have fully committed themselves to the group effort. This is a coachs greatest legacy.

THE EAGLE FEATHER
EAGLE POWER
The eagle is the chief among birds.
The eagle flies against the storm.
The eagle rides the winds.
The eagle flies to the highest mountain tops.
The eagle builds her nest so that her young are safe from danger from the other animals.
In time, the young eagle will learn to fly among the steep cliffs and learn to make her place in life.
With the strength in her wings she will display her skills.
But the eagle is much more than this, for it is the bird that flies highest and therefore closest to the Creator, the Supreme Being.
Because of this factor many tribes honor and respect the eagle in their spiritual thought and life.
The eagle is known for its speed, courage, strength, and intelligence.
So it is, that the Indian, through the centuries, has held the eagle in awe and sought to emulate both its physical and spiritual characteristics.
She has used the feathers from the eagle as a symbol both for its courage and for the way in which the power of the Creator is reflected in this bird.
Whether the feathers are used for headdress, shields, banners or fans, the meaning is clear - the bearer has earned the right by her brave deeds, her kind deeds, and other special achievements, to wear or carry this most sacred symbol.
