Hurricane 2007 GAME REPORTS
Hurricane 0 vs BC United Wildfire 3
In their opening game, the Hurricanes played together for their first time.
The Wildfire scored an early goal. The Hurricanes did a nice job trying to tie.
Late in the game, positional adjustments were made trying to get the tying goal, but were unsuccessful.

Hurricanes 4 Soaring Capital 2
The Hurricanes traveled to Eldridge Field, Elmira on a very windy day.
The Hurricanes notched 4 goals in the first half, 3 from Liz and a tally from AshleyK. Soaring Capital cut the lead in half with two goals and threatened with many other opportunities. Bianca did a very nice job in goal preseving the win. Nirchi's Pizza and Calzones was the choice venue for our post-game bistro.

Hurricanes 1 Chenango Chargers 0
On a beautiful day at Legion Field, the Chargers and Hurricanes battled to score all game long. With under two minutes remaining in the second half, Brittanni scores from the 18 yard line from nice passes from Whitney and Ashley. Thanks for the donuts, Chelsea!

Hurricanes 1 Soaring Capital 0
On a sunny Saturday afternoon, after holding a very successful Chicken Barbeque/Bake Sale fundraiser in the morning, the Hurricanes came away with a 1-0 win from a nicely competitive Soaring Capital team at Legion Field. Once again, Brittanni scored the lone tally of the game, coming midway through the first half. The Hurricane defense was strong with goalkeeper Bianca earning another shutout.

Hurricanes 4   BC United 1
At the BC United Field Complex in Endicott, NY, the Empire Hurricanes tallied 2 goals in each half to earn a 4-1 win with the Wildfire. Liz, Yulia, and Brittanni scored the goals while the Hurricane defense and midfield did a great job of keeping the ball in the attacking 1/3. The Hurricane Families then dined at the famous Phil's Chicken House Breakfast Buffet.

Hurricanes 0 Stateline 6
At the beautifully groomed Legion Field, the Hurricanes were dominated by the Stateline team. Early breakaway goals set the tone for the game. Thank you to Mrs. Reynolds for the Ice Pops and thanks to Chelsea for the donuts.

Hurricanes 2   CCY 2
The Hurricanes scored with 30 seconds remaining to come from behind to tie the game. Both Hurricane goals were scored by Ashley in the second half.
Bianca made some crucial saves to hold CCY to 2 goals.

Hurricanes 1 Stateline 1
The Hurricanes traveled to Waverly, NY for their final BCSA league game to play the undefeated Stateline team. After giving up a first-half goal, the Hurricanes scored on a PK from Liz midway in the second half to earn the tie.
The Hurricanes dined at The Original Italian Pizzeria in an old railstation located in Pennsylvannia

Hurricanes win FIRST GAME!
April 29 2006
The Hurricanes started their Spring League games with a roadtrip to Watkins Glen.
The match was evenly played throughout by both teams. Many of the Hurricanes were asked to play positions that they were not used to. The girls rose to the occasion in wonderous fashion! Both teams were very tired at the 0-0 halftime break. Twelve minutes into the second half, The Hurricanes managed to tally first against a very good Scorpion goalkeeper with a hard cross by Ashley. Somehow the ball finds the net with Chelsea "making mischief" in front of the goal. The Scorpions then knotted the score with a blast just inside the 18. The winning tally came from a beautifully assited ball from Whitney to Ashley, and a 25 yd rocket to the upper 90. Special thanks to Dunja for her stellar performance as her very first experience as a goalkeeper! Nice job on the 2-1 victory!

" SOCCER SLAM 2006" a HUGE success!
SocSLAM06
Soccer Slam 06 in full gear!
At SOCCER SLAM 2006, The Hurricanes worked closely with girls in grades 4,5,and 6
at the SOCCER SLAM on Tuesday June 6 at the Whitney Point Fairgrounds.

Each Hurricane player shared their personal contact information with their younger "Soccer Sister", and in turn, the younger girls shared their information with their older "Soccer Sister". Every pair of Soccer Sisters will contact each other throughout the year (and hopefully in years to come) to share in each other's successes.

Soccer relays, shooting, and drinks and treats immediately followed.

Soccer balls (that had seen better days) were awarded to lucky junior Sisters!

Soccer Slam 2006 made positive strides in building the soccer community in Whitney Point!   Great job Hurricanes!
