U4 Age Bracket
Purpose for this bracket is to promote the fitness and coordination of young children. We do not pick future soccer stars at this age. All children are stars, we are here to help them find their shinning light.
*4 players per team on the field
*#3 ball should be used
*4 periods of 6 minutes each, 5 minute halftime
*We ask that coaches start to get children to understand the concept of a field of play. In other words, when they go off the field of play we want them to restart at the touch line where they left the field. Some parents, in this bracket, may kick the ball back into play. Do not worry about it, let the game continue.
U4 Special Rules *No Goalies. When a goal is scored restart of game is from the center point.
*When game is stopped due to ball out of play it should be restarted, from the point it left the field, with a kick. Opponents should be on their own side of the field.
U6 Age Bracket
Purpose for this bracket is to promote the fitness and coordination of young children. We do not pick future stars at this age. *Players, Parents, and coaches need to understand that without referees our game stops. That is, after U6's we can no longer control the situation (game).
*Coaches must enforce referee respect. This respect comes from all 3 areas; Coaches, Players, and Parents. If the coach sets a good example the players will follow. The parents may need to have their position defined to them; cheer for the kids and leave the referees alone.
