THANK YOU & FAREWELL

We want to thank Doug Williams for his 7 yrs of service to the league. Doug started coaching in 2003 & becomae league President in 2006. Doug has been a great mentor to our youth & has kept our organization on track over the years. We wish him all the best.

We also want to wish Bridet Williams all the best as well. She became a board member in 2005 & has truly dedicated herself to this organization to the fullest. She listened to the complaints over the years & tried to learn from them & keep the league moving in a positive direction. She enjoyed the countless hours she put into the league & has made everlasting friendships w/many. We wish you ALL THE BEST.

And finally, we want to say so long to Dorothy Orgovan, aka "Grandma Dotty". The kids will surely miss her smile & sheerfulness. She enjoyed volunteering her time & she will be greatly missed as well. Good Luck Gradma Dotty & enjoy those grandchildren.

SPRING REGISTRATION INFO

Registration: Forms are available in the handout section.........Fee is $35 for all new players, which gets you 8 - 10 games & includes a professional uniform kit (jersey, shorts & socks). **Fall players MUST register for the Spring season -- NO FEES APPLY**

Location: DUNHAM'S Sporting January 25th - 29th, 6:00pm - 8:00pm & 10:00am - 1:00pm on Saturday, January 30th more dates to be announced

Coaching: This year will be holding a coaching clinic for our entire coaching staff. The class will be put on by Tom Turner of Ohio North. He will give you all the information you need to become a great soccer coach. Class will be in April -- more details shortly.

Training: Joe Pavlek will be offering training for anyone 5yrs & up. If interested, please contact Bridget or Doug. The final details are currently being worked out.

Summer Camp w/CLEVELAND UNITED Coaches: Camp is back by popular demand! Last summer was a great success & we're hoping to make this season bigger & better for our soccer players. The camp accepts players 5yrs - 18yrs of age.

Last years trainers were: Joe Pavlek, Joe Raduka, Marko Raduka, Michael "Mac" McBride & Bora Raduka (whom coached David Beckham). If you'd like to learn more about Cleveland United & there staff, log onto www.clevelandunited.org

Our camp is set for June 21st - 25th. The fee is $90.00 & you can get set up w/a payment plan that works for your budget. Contact Bridget @ 304-670-2108

REFEREE INFO

Are you interested in becoming a referee? If said yes, then give us a call or check out the following websites for clinic details. We are looking to hold a certification clinic for local area players in February or March. If you are at least 10 yrs of age, then you are eligible & you can get paid to mentor other players. REFEREE IN TRAINING PROGRAM

We will be training several new kids this season, so please be patient w/them during games. Yes, a bad call may occur, but they're only kids, so give them a break. Remember that this could be your child someday & I'm sure you wouldn't want someone yelling at them...... New this year is the "WHITE CARD". This card will be issued to coaches, players, & spectators that are out of line w/comments regarding games. The referee can use this card at their discretion & the decision is FINAL. If you are given this fine award, you MUST referee the next 2 games. If you refuse to do so, you will be asked to leave the facility indefinitely or until you come to your senses & participate. I'm certain the experience will help you appreciate these kids much more.

WEATHER POLICY

While the fields may be fine, we REQUIRE a 30 minute wait after seeing lightening or hearing thunder. We would kindly ask that you return to your vehicle for safety issues. Games may be cancelled for lack of time during this process.

WHERE DOES MY MONEY GO!!

Have you ever sat & thought about where your money goes when you register for a youth sport? Well, we would like to break things down for you. Many people wonder, but are afraid to ask, so we want to share things w/you.

Go to the handout section & click on "money" for a breakdown of the current fees. If you can help decrease the cost, in anyway, please contact a board member. We are also planning a new fundraiser that will lighten the financial burden to the fullest, but your participation is needed. Call for details.

NO PETS

Please note that pets ARE NOT PERMITTED on the playing areas. This will avoid exposing our children to parasites. Parasites can cause serious damage to our young children and can also cause blindness. So please follow the simple rule & just keep in mind that the safety of our children comes first.
