ELROSA--The Spring Hill Chargers beat the Elrosa Saints 5-1 on Sunday to retain the Traveling Keg Trophy. It is the fourth win in five tries for the Chargers who took over sole control of 2nd place in the SCL North with the win. The Chargers came out swinging as they scored 3 runs in the first two innings. Spring Hill would later score lone runs in the 5th and 7th innings to push the score to 5-0. Elrosa scored their lone run in the bottom of the 9th. Pat Illies led the team offensively hitting 2-for-4 while Ethan Vogt collected two hits and Matt Bauer added a double. Aaron Vogt took the loss on the mound for the Saints throwing 6 innings, giving up 4 hits, 4 runs, 2 earned runs, walking 4 and striking out 9. Matt Middendorf pitched the final 3 innings giving up 1 hit, 1 run, 0 earned runs, 0 walks, and 5 strikeouts. The Saints will continue SCL North play when they travel to undeafeted New Munich on Sunday. First pitch is slated for 1:30 p.m.
