ETHAN BATTED 3-FOR-4 AGAINST RICHMOND
ELROSA--The Saints led 4-0 going into the 6th inning but a 5 run inning by Richmond was the difference as the Royals beat Elrosa 5-4 in the home opener Sunday afternoon in Elrosa. Elrosa got two RBI singles with two outs in the bottom of the fourth inning from Mike Zenzen and Aaron Vogt to punch across the first two runs of the game and take the lead 2-0. The Saints then pushed across two more runs in the fifth inning on RBI singles by Ethan Vogt and Matt Bauer. Offensively, Ethan Vogt continued to rip the ball as he finished 3-for-4 and Pat Illies picked up his first two hits of the year as well. Aaron Vogt took the loss on the mound for Elrosa throwing 6 innings. He was relieved by Dustin Breitbach who threw 2 1/3 scoreless innnings. Breitbach then had to leave because of arm problems and was releived by Matt Middendorf. The Saints are now 0-2 on the year and will be looking for their first victory next weekend when they travel to Greenwald on Sunday afternoon.
