In the sixth, Roelike drove in Vogt and Illies on a two out single to center to give the Saints the lead. From there Vogt shut the door as he kept the Laker offense off balance all evening. ROELIKE RIPPED FOR 3 RBIS!
ELROSA--It wasn't pretty and it wasn't flashy but the Elrosa Saints pulled out a 7-6 victory over the Roscoe Rangers Friday night in Elrosa. NEW LOOK SAINTS RETAIN KEG IN SEASON OPENER

JONNY RIPPED THE GO-AHEAD SINGLE!
SPRING HILL--Fueled by the excitement of the first set of new equipment in over a decade, the Elrosa Saints opened up their 2013 summer tour with a 3-2 victory over the Chargers in 10 innings Sunday afternoon in Spring Hill. New helmets, catcher's gear, and a couple of fresh new faces greeted the Saints as they met for their first performance of the spring. The victory was the second consecutive for the Saints in the storied history of the Battle of the Keg. Elrosa knocked out 11 hits in the victory as they scavenged the nooks and crannies of the club house to find bats that were left over from the past 5 years. The Elrosa pitching staff allowed only 3 hits the entire afternoon as they kept the men in maroon off balance with timely strikeouts and wild pitches. Both teams locked up in a pitcher's duel through the first five innings before Elrosa finally pushed across 2 runs in the 6th inning. James Kuefler, who was fresh off a prom night extravaganza, led off with a solid single up the middle. Kuefler advanced to second on a fielder's choice and finally scored on a Matt Middendorf double. Ethan Vogt then ripped a two-out double down the left field line to plate Middendorf and give the Saints a 2-0 lead. Spring Hill eventually plated 2 runs across in the bottom of the 8th inning as they took advantage of a number of walks and wild pitches. It was no surprise to any at the park that the Battle of the Keg would go extra innings. Vogt opened the 10th with a hard earned walk. After a pop out, Aaron Vogt was hit by a pitch to put the Vogts on first and second. Austin Imdieke smashed a 5 hopper to first base to move the brother tandem up a base and Jonny Olmscheid plated Ethan with a solid single to left to give the Saints the 3-2 lead. Kevin Kuefler came on to close the game and shut the door in the bottom of the 10th inning with two strikeouts and a ground ball. Middendorf finished with 3 hits while Gumbi Bauer, Ethan Vogt, and Pat Illies each laced two singles. Olmscheid and Keufler each added base hits to aid the Saints offensive attack. Vogt started and pitched a solid 5 innings while Middendorf labored through the next 4 innings. Kuefler closed the door in his only inning of work. The Saints will travel to Meire Grove on Sunday to face the Grovers.
