SPRING  2012 - PLAYER REGISTRATION

Spring Season 2012 In-Person Registration Dates for Elkton Little League have been scheduled and are listed below. All In-person Registrations will be located at:

Immaculate Conception School, 452 Bow Street, Elkton, MD 21921

 on the following dates and times:

• Saturday - February 4, 2012 from 9:00am-1:00pm
• Thursday - February 9, 2012 from 6:00pm-8:00pm
• Saturday - February 18, 2012 from 9:00am-1:00pm

In 2012, Elkton Little League is offering the opportunity to PLAY FOR FREE !!!! See below on this webpage for details.

Players from ages 4-18yrs of age are eligible. Spring 2012 Player Registration fees are as follows through February 18, 2012 with Multiple Sibling Discounts included:

• 1 player: $100.00 registration fee
• 2 players: $200.00 registration fees
• 3 players: $275.00 registration fees
• 4 or more players: $325.00 maximum registration fees

Every registration received after February 18, 2012 will have a $50.00 late fee applied, no multiple-sibling discounts, or "play for free" option will be available.

An "Early-Bird" discount is available to every On-Line Registration received during the month of January 2012 only. This discount involves Elkton Little League paying the Website Administrative Fee for processing On-line registrations.

PLAY FOR FREE during Spring 2012 Season

through the Elkton Little League Raffle Drawing on April 14, 2012 

As stated above, every paid registration received for the Spring 2012 Season will receive its entire cost in Free Raffle Tickets. In-Person registrants will receive their raffle tickets at the time they register. On-line registrants will have their raffle tickets mailed to them in the order the registrations are received.

• 1 player Registration Fee of $100.00 will receive (10) $10.00 raffle tickets.
• 2 players Registration Fees of $200.00 will receive (20) $10.00 raffle tickets
• The number of Raffle Tickets given follows the multi-sibling discount for Registration Fees.  

Each player will have the opportunity to sell their raffle tickets to offset their Registration Fees. Please have all checks made out to your players parents/guardians. The earlier a player registers, will give that player more time to sell their raffle tickets!

Registrations received after February 18, 2012 will not be eligible for the "Play for Free" raffle option.  

The Raffle Ticket Drawing will be held at Elkton Little League's Eder Park on Saturday April 14, 2012. All Completed Raffle Ticket Stubs must be turned into your players Manager or the Concession Stand by 8:00pm on Friday April 13, 2012 for entry into the drawing.

The Raffle Ticket Prizes are as follows:

• 1st place prize : $1,000.00
• 2nd place prize : $500.00
• 3rd place prize : $250.00

MINOR 'B', MINOR 'A', and MAJOR BASEBALL MANAGERS & COACHES

Wednesday March 7, 2012 from 6:30-8:30pm at the Elkton High School Cafeteria 

Elkton Little League is proud to announce the start of our in-depth clinics to reach ALL our players. This clinic will teach the fundamentals of hitting, pitching, and how to play the position of catcher. Each age groups Managers and Coaches will be taught as a group to maximize the opportunity to learn. While reviewing the fundamentals of each session, different ways to relate the information to the players will be given. This is an invaluable tool as getting the players to understand what is being taught is critical. 

A similar Softball Clinic is being worked on now and will be announced as soon as it is finalized.

TRYOUTS FOR THE 2012 SPRING SEASON

All Try-outs will be held at the Elkton High School Gym

Please wear sneakers and bring your glove, bat, and helmet if you have one. Helmets and balls will be provided.

SOFTBALL - Thursday March 8, 2012

9 and 10 YEAR OLD SOFTBALL PLAYERS :

•  Must arrive at Elkton High School Gymnasium by 5:30pm to register for tryouts.
• Tryouts are fom 5:45-6:45pm on a first come, first serve basis. All players must tryout.

11 and 12 YEAR OLD SOFTBALL PLAYERS :

• Must arrive  at Elkton High School Gymnasium by 6;45pm to register for tryouts.
• Tryouts are from 7:00-8:00pm on a first come, first serve basis. All players must tryout.

13 to 16 YEAR OLD SOFTBALL PLAYERS :

• Must arrive at Elkton High School Gymnasium by 7:45pm to register for tryouts.
• Tryouts are from 8:00-10:00pm on a first come, first serve basis. All players must tryout.

MINOR 'B' DIVISION - does not try-out

BASEBALL - Friday March 9, 2012

 8, 9 and 10 YEAR OLD BASEBALL PLAYERS :

• Must arrive at Elkton High School Gymnasium by 5:30pm to register for tryouts.
• Tryouts are from 5;45-7:45pm on a first come, first serve basis. All players must tryout. Please see note below for Minor 'A' and Major Divivsions.

11 and 12 YEAR OLD BASEBALL PLAYERS :

• Must arrive at Elkton high School Gymnasium by 7:30pm to register for tryouts.
• Tryouts are from 8:00-10:00pm on a first come, first serve basis. Please see note below for Minor 'A' and Major Divisions.  

MAJOR DIVISION TRYOUT RULES FOR 9-12 YEAR OLD PLAYERS - All new players to the Major Division, who wish to play in the Major Division, must try-out. Players returning to the Major Division from the Spring 2011 season do not need to try-out. Any Eligible Major Division player who does not tryout, will automatically be placed in the Minor 'A' Baseball Draft and will be ineligible for the Major Division Draft.

CLINIC SIGN-UPS

Elkton Little League is in the process of completing a list of the confirmed Clinics being offered during the 2012 year. This sign-up list will be available during In-Person Registrations and posted on this website page upon completion. These clinics will be offered on a "first come-first serve" basis. More Clinics will be made available during the year so check the website or contact Jim Siock for further details. 1. FIELD CLEAN-UP DAYS - at Elkton Little League's Eder Park Complex

• Saturday March 24, 2012 starting at 8:00am
• Saturday March 31, 2012 starting at 8:00am.

2. PICTURE DAY - Saturday March 31, 2012. Times and Location will be announced.

3. OPENING DAY GAMES - at Eder Park on Tuesday April 10, 2012 starting at 5:30pm

4. OPENING DAY PARADE - at Eder Park on Saturday April 14, 2012 starts at 10:00am. Please arrive by 9:00am to line-up before Howard Street closes. Games to follow the ceremonies.

 **DONATIONS NEEDED DUE TO FLOOD DAMAGE**

Elkton Little League was hit with a huge flood in the Fall of 2011 and the League needs to replace a number of pieces of equipment. The time and energy given by those volunteers who helped in the aftermath have our eternal gratitude. At the time, the League just wanted to clean-up the fields to get the season started not just for our own players, but also the other District 5 players counting on us for games during the week. To keep costs down, the League is hoping to replace the following items by means of tax-deductable donation from anyone willing to help :

• Refrigerator
• Freezer
• Window Air-Conditioner
• Batting Helmuts
• Gloves
• Bats
• Catcher's Gear that includes mask, chest protector, and shin guards
• Pitching Machine
• Peanut Roaster
• Deep Frier
• 2 Coffee Makers
• 2-3 Large Electric Grills
