Elkton Little League: 2011 Divisions
League Age 4-7 (please see the 2011 Age Chart for your players "League-Age")
PowderPuff Softball is for girls 4-6 yrs old (with a League option for 7 and/or 8 yr olds) who want to learn the fundamentals of hitting and fielding. In PowderPuff, players hit a softball off a batting tee. Rules of the game may be varied to accomidate the need for teaching. The primary goals of PowderPuff are to instruct children in the fundamentals of softball and to allow them to experience the value of teamwork. Rosters may be composed or between 12-20 players, but for 2011, Elkton Little League has rosters in the 8-9 player range. No live pitching is permitted in this Division. For 2011, The PowderPuff Division will play one game per week against other PowderPuff Teams and one "inter-league" game per week against a Boys T-Ball Baseball Team. Generally, the diamond used is a 60 foot diamond, but the League has the option to use a 50 foot diamond.
T-Ball Boys Baseball

Tee Ball Baseball is for boys and girls 4-6 years old (with a local option for 7- and/or 8-year-olds) who want to learn the fundamentals of hitting and fielding. In Tee Ball, players hit a baseball off a batting tee. Rules of the game may be varied to accommodate the need for teaching. The primary goals of Tee Ball are to instruct children in the fundamentals of baseball and to allow them to experience the value of teamwork. Rosters may be composed of between 12 and 20 players, but for 2011, Elkton Little League has rosters in the 9-10 player range. No live pitching is permitted in this division. Generally, the diamond used is a 60-foot diamond, but the League has the option to use a 50-foot diamond.
Minor 'B' Girls
League Age 6-9 (please see the 2011 Age Chart for your players "League-Age")
Girls Minor League Softball programs may be operated within each division for younger players with less experience. The minor league may be players ages 6-11 yrs old. The Minor 'B' Division is established as a "coach pitch" Division for the 2011 Season. Elkton Little League provides a continuous batting order and a 50% play rule. By Elkton Little League option, a player who is league age 6 for the current season and has played a year in Tee Ball and/or PowderPuff Softball may be "moved up" to the Minor 'B' Division. However, by Elkton Little League option, a 9 yr old could "play down" in the "coach pitch" division. This is entirely the choice of the Elkton Little League Board of Directors. Rosters may be composed of between 12 and 20 players, but our League has rosters in the 9-10 player range. The diamond used is a 60-foot diamond and the pitching distance is 35 feet. There are no Tournament Teams available for this Division in 2011.

Elkton Little League has mandated any player, League-Age 9-11 yrs old, who DOES NOT ATTEND TRY-OUTS is automatically placed in the Minor 'A' Division and ineligible for the Major Boys Division Draft. Rosters may be composed of between 12 and 20 players, but our League has rosters in the 10-11 player range. The diamond used is a 60-foot diamond and the pitching distance is 46 feet. There are no Tournament Teams available for this Division in 2011.
Major Boys
League Age 9-12 (please see the 2011 Age Chart for your players "League-Age")
The Little League Baseball Division (sometimes known as the Major Division) is for boys and girls ages 9-12, using a 60 foot diamond with a pitching distance of 46 feet. Elkton Little League has chosen to include all players League Ages 9-12 yrs old in the Draft. Elkton Little League has mandated any player, League Age 9-11yrs old, who DOES NOT ATTEND TRY-OUTS is automatically placed in the Minor 'A' Division and ineligible for the Major Boys Draft. However, all players League-Age 12 must play in the Major Division. Rosters can be from 12-20 players but our League rosters are in the 12-13 player range for the 2011 Season. Elkton Little League follows Little League Baseball's Pitch Count guidelines, provides a continuous batting order, and a 50% play rule. Elkton Little League has the option to choose Tournament Teams (or "All Stars") of 9-10yr olds, 10-11yr olds, and 11-12yr olds from within the Major Boys division. The 11-12yr old "All-Star" Team may enter the International Tournament. The culmination of the International Tournament is the Little League World Series, featuring teams from around the globe.
Junior Boys

The Junior League Baseball Division is a program for boys and girls ages 13-14, using a conventional 90-foot diamond with a pitching distance of 60 feet, 6 inches. (A modified diamond is available during the regular season.) Elkton Little League follows Little League Baseball's Pitch Count guidelines, a continuous batting order, and a 50% play rule. Elkton Little League has the option to choose a Tournament Team (or "All Stars") of 13-14-year-olds from within this division (and/or from within the Senior League Division), and the team may enter the International Tournament. The culmination of the International Tournament is the Junior League Baseball World Series, featuring teams from around the globe.
Senior Boys

The Senior League Baseball Division is for boys and girls 14-16 years old, using a conventional 90-foot diamond with a pitching distance of 60 feet, 6 inches. Elkton Little League follows Little League Baseball's Pitch Count guidelines, provides a continuous batting order, and a 50% play rule. Elkton Little League has the option to choose a Tournament Team (or "All Stars") of 14-16yr olds from within this division (and/or from within the Junior League or Big League divisions), and the team may enter the International Tournament. The culmination of the International Tournament is the Senior League Baseball World Series, featuring teams from around the globe.
