A Message to ALL Participants and their Families
from your League President concerning Fundraising
Elkton Little League is a "non-profit" organization. Part of the definition of "non-profit" means: Registration Fees do not cover costs. This makes fundraising that much more vital to every non-profit organization, especially in today's economy. To help participants with Registration Fees in 2012, Elkton Little League instituted a "Play for Free" raffle system. This was not a fundraiser as all monies from sold raffle tickets was kept by the participants. In 2012, there will be a total of 4 fundraisers for everyone to choose from. All that is being asked of each participant and their family is to pick one fundraiser and get behind it 100%. If you have already done your share, thank you from everyone in your League. If not, there are a couple more to choose from listed below.

Elkton Little League's MAJOR BOYS DIVISION attend a
University of Delaware Baseball Game
About 45 players and their families attended a University of Delaware Baseball game on Sunday April 29, 2012. Players received baseballs, posters, water bottles, bracelets, stood on the field with the Delaware players during the National Anthem, and ran the bases after the game. Autographs were given by Delaware players and staff along with taking time to talk with our players. A thrilling 1 run game that featured a Delaware Grand Slam and the final out of the game was made by Hofstra tagging out the Delaware runner at home plate! Delaware's motto is "Greatness is Earned" and their hospitality and level of play proved they are on the correct path. Good luck with your season and may Omaha be in your future!
Thank you to your Major Boys Division VP - Joe Bingnear and Major Boys Diamondbacks Manager - Jim Karnes for providing the players this wonderful experience.

ELKTON LITTLE LEAGUE HAS A BELATED THANK YOU FOR:
CHRIS GREGORY
Most of you know, Elkton Little League experienced a flood in the Fall of 2011. The Fall season was in jeopardy for not only our players, but the other District 5 town players also. Caring persons volunteered many days and long hours attempting to clean our complex just to see if games could be played. One person in particular came to our rescue, Chris Gregory. Chris works for Ransome Rents, a Division of Caterpillar, near Philadelphia, PA. He donated equipment to our League that took the place of many people and saved days of back-breaking work. Besides the equipment donated, Chris volunteered his time to work the equipment and showed our qualified operators how his equipment worked. What's amazing is that Chris doesn't have a child playing in Little League! He read about our situation in the newspaper and reached out to our League with his offer to help. He may have received food or drink forced on him by our League, but in no way would accept anything in return but a handshake and our thanks. All we can say is thank you for providing a great example of what "Community" really means.
