The Elite Runners as a team performed exceptionally well at the USATF State meet on 11/2; several atheletes hit their Personal Records and also placed in the top 10 to medal.  Athletes placing in the top 10 for their age group are recognized below:

 Also placing 2nd as a team in the Midget Girls Division were Brittany Gasser, Stephanie Britton, Emily Shibata, Carla Gray, and Shannon Tonra.

19 representatives of the Elite Runners competed in winter conditions, including a foot of snow,  at the USATF Regional Championships in Liverpool, NY on Nov. 22nd.  Great job by all who competed and gave their "all" in a difficult environment.  Special Honors go to the following medal winners in their age division:

Elite Runners excel at the 2008 Cross Country Youth National Championships held in West Chester Ohio on December 5th on a frigid and snowy course.  Special honors go to Steven Payne, the winner of the Sub Bantam Race and National Champion for the 8 year old division.  Also Charles Bakos the National Champion for the 7 year old division.   Both Steven and Charlie ran tremendous races against tough competiton from several regions in the country.  Also medaling at Nationals with tremendous performances were the following:

                            Ajay Singh              9th place           11 Year Old Division

                            Emily Shibata         22nd place         11 Year Old Division

                            Jaspal Singh          16th place           13 Year Old Division

Other noteable performances attending the meet were from Nathan Walkes, Rahi Nigam, and Noel Walkes.  Congratulations and Great Job to our Elite National Representatives!!!

Victoria Steele will be recognized by the  NJ USA Track & Field organization as Athlete of the Year for her accomplishments during the 2008 Winter and summer seasons.  Victoria displayed tremendous talent and "heart" in each of her performances befitting that of a champion, of which several were claimed.  Congratulations Victoria and we wish you even more success in the future.

 The award ceremony will take place on January 24, 2009.

Brittany Green and Kelis Battle competed at the Colgate Games Finals scheduled on 1/31 at Madison Square Garden.  Brittany Green placed 4th in the 55M Hurdles in the Middle School Division while Kelis Battle also placed 4th for the 200M in the Elementary School "A" Division.  Congratulations to both athletes!!!
