NEW PROGRAMS ANNOUNCED!
Greetings!
It's officially "fall" and with it comes the time of year where the familiar green shades of summer dissappear into the chilly-autumn palette of orange and brown. But, at Fox Valley Sports Academy it's always bright and the indoor weather is perfect for your off-season preparation!
For Great Players, There is No Off-Season! Check out the new programs that are available for both baseball and softball players:
Hitting Leagues...the 4 on 4 Cage-Match WAR!
2nd Session Begins in January... Hit for six-weeks for $50!
What is the 4 ON 4, CAGE-MATCH WAR (A.K.A. Hitting Leagues)? Hitting leagues are competitive games played in the batting cages where four-person teams compete for 7-innings trying to outscore each other. The game itself is 7-innings long and uses a scoring system that rewards hitters not only for contact, but specifically for line drives.
Age Divisions (baseball) for 8-10 year olds, 10-12 year olds and 13-15 year olds; games are scheduled on Sunday afternoons and in the evening! No games Thanksgiving weekend or Superbowl weekend!
Winter Baseball Camps, Pitching and Hitting
VALUE PRICING...$79 for FOUR-WEEKS!
Fox Valley Sports Academy Winter Camps are available for players 7-10 & 10-12 years old. Different sessions are scheduled during the winter months and are seperated so players can attend multiple camps and work on different skills (hitting and pitching).
Blackline Studio - NOW OPEN!

TRAINING FOR THE HIGH SCHOOL BASEBALL PLAYER!
|
| TPX TOP 96 |
|
|
About the TPX TOP 96 TOP 96, Inc. conducts TPX TOP 96 College Coaches Baseball Clinics for High School Players throughout the United States. Founded in 1994 to run "Showcases" in the Boston, MA area, the TOP 96 grew in size and reputation attracting players from all over the country who wanted to attend colleges in New England. Three friends who coached AAU baseball teams joined forces nearly 15 years ago to showcase baseball talent in the northeast for their kids and some of their baseball players who noticed there was little opportunity to do so in the northeast. Because of our reputation for quality, honesty and integrity, Louisville Slugger approached us in 2003 about forming a partnership with a long range goal of expanding our events outside of Massachusetts. As a result of this partnership, the TPX TOP 96 brand name was developed for all of our events.
We guarantee that colleges will in fact attend, and we guarantee a 7:1 ratio or better. We provide substantial value to our participants. Our college coaches provide the following: Hands-on instruction in 11 different areas Written and 1-on-1 personal evaluations Specialized instruction in vision training, base running and strength and conditioning Our goal is to teach these high school players the baseball fundamentals they need to take their game to the next level. We limit the total number of players at each of our clinics and we also limit the number of players at each position.

March 26, 2009
NOTICE TO PARENTS, PLAYERS AND LEAGUES: IF YOU ARE CONSIDERING THE PURCHASE OF A NEW COMPOSITE METAL BAT FOR USE IN LITTLE LEAGUE BASEBALL (Major Division and below), BE SURE THAT THE BAT YOU ARE PURCHASING HAS THIS MARKING: BPF 1.15 ON THE BARREL OR HANDLE OF THE BAT. IF NOT, IT WILL NOT BE ALLOWED FOR PLAY IN LITTLE LEAGUE GAMES.
Little League officials are aware that there are bats for sale in stores, online or that may have already been purchased that are Little League approved, but do not have the required bat performance standard (BPF) markings. In fact, some of the bats on the Little League approved bat list may not carry the required BPF 1.15 marking on the bat, depending on when they were manufactured and licensed. Currently manufacturers are conducting an inventory and re-testing of all approved bats. The results of this study / retesting is to be finished by March 31, 2009. We are building a list of certain bats that are approved, but do not have the BPF marking due to special circumstances. For these bats, we are extending eligibility for play until December 31, 2009. As we are made aware of bats that meet our criteria for this extension, we will add them to the list. Please check this list regularly for updates. HOWEVER, ONLY BATS WITH THE BPF 1.15 MARKING AND THE BATS ON THIS LIST WILL BE ALLOWED FOR PLAY IN 2009.
Bats with the special exception include the following:
Adidas Vanquish Blue design (There is a newer model of this bat, also named the Vanquish and it has copper and black markings. It contains the proper labeling and therefore is not subject to the one-year rule).
DeMarini - Black Coyote, Rogue, Distance, Rumble, Tengu, Mach 10, Patriot
Easton - LZ-810, LZ-800, Stealth Optiflex LST 1,
Louisville Slugger - YB31
NIKE - Areo

Junior League Baseball Bat Size Changes
|
|
| |
| |
|
October 9, 2008
Dear District Administrative Staffs and Local Little League Baseball Officials:
Beginning with the 2009 Little League Baseball season, baseball bats with a diameter of 2-3/4 inches are no longer permitted for use in the Junior League Division of Baseball.
Baseball bats with a 2-5/8 inch diameter are now the standard for all teenage baseball divisions (Junior, Senior and Big League).
The "minus-3" requirement - overall weight (in ounces) of a bat can be no more than three ounces below the overall length (in inches) of the bat - remains in effect in Senior and Big League Baseball divisions, but is NOT a requirement in Junior Baseball.
Also, in effect for the 2009 season is the requirement that all non-wood bats used in Little League Baseball Divisions and below shall be printed with a BPF (bat performance factor) of 1.15 or less.
Sincerely,
Little League International
