Byrd Signs with Converse!
On April 25th, among family and friends, Ruth Byrd signed a National Letter of Intent to play college basketball at Converse College. Converse is an NCAA Division II School, located in Spartanburg, South Carolina. Ruth is the first East Jessamine girls' basketball player to continue her basketball career at the college level.
Congratulations Ruth!!

School Records Broken!
Congratulations to Clara and LaToya! Last week, they both broke school records and are featured in the Lexington Herald Leader High School Notebook on Friday, January 21st (click on the headline above for a direct link to the Herald Leader article).
Clara had school record of 29 rebounds against Danville on January 10th. The previous record was 21, and was held by Rodnisha Smith.
LaToya had 13 assists in the win against West on January 14th. The previous record was 9, and was held by Erica Stegner.
Clara is also now the 4th best rebounder in the state (as of January 20th.). She is averaging 13.1 rebounds per game. Ruth Byrd is 12th in the state in rebounding, averaging 11.2 rebounds per game. The team is 13th in the state in rebounding, averaging 38.6 per game! WOW!! These items can also be found in today's Herald Leader!
