Eastern Illinois: Head Coach

Adam Howarth

Adam Howarth will begin his eleventh year as head coach of the Eastern Illinois University Men’s Soccer program this coming fall season.

In his tenure at EIU he has coached two All-Americans, two Academic All-American, eight All-Midwest players and has had 36 players represented on Missouri Valley All-Conference teams. The MVC is regarded as one of the top conferences in the nation.

After the 2005 season, senior Jimmy Klatter was invited to the MLS Combine in California as one of the top 54 seniors in the country. Previously, former Panther Jason Thompson became the first player from Eastern Illinois to be drafted by Major League Soccer and played with FC Dallas and DC United.

Howarth previously started the boys soccer program at St. Anthony High School in Effingham where he was named the 1998 Illinois High School Sectional ‘Coach of the Year.’

Originally from Slough, England, Howarth holds a U.S. Soccer Federation ‘A’ license, the top national license for coaches and an NSCAA Premier Diploma. Howarth is a member of both the U.S. Soccer Coaches Organization and National Soccer Coaches Association of America.
