Please check this page first as a source for answers to your questions.
This page will be updated as questions arise to provide answers to all.

Q: When is the Fall Classic Tournament held?
A: The tournament is held every year over the Columbus Day Weekend, on Saturday and Sunday.

Q: Where can I get the necessary Application Forms?
A: All of the required forms can be obtained from this web site via the "Instructions & Forms" link contained in the menu bar at the top of this page.

Q: Do I need to send the medical release forms and copies of birth certificates in with the Application Form?
A: No. When submitting the Application Form the only thing that is required is the registration fee. Roster forms, medical releases, and copies of birth certificates will be due at the coaches meeting/registration night. All accepted applicants will notified of the date, which will also be posted on this website.

Q: Does the Medical Release Form need to be notarized? Are the Medical Release Forms required even though all of the children on my team will be accompanied by their parents?
A: Yes. This is a requirement of the agreement that we sign with the Long Island Junior Soccer League to host the tournament.

Q: Is it permissible to enter a team with players that are in different age divisions?
A: Yes, however the team must be entered in the division of the oldest player on the roster.

Q: How are the games scheduled, that is what day will I play on?
A: Each team will be scheduled to play two games on Saturday and two additonal games on Sunday. Each team will play their games on the morning of one of the days and the afternoon of the other day.

Q: Can we request a specific morning or afternoon to play?
A: Yes, and this request should be made at the time the application is submitted. Although we can not guarantee accomodating requests, we do make an effort to accomodate all such requests. An obvious obstacle to doing so would be if there was only one division (may occur in older age groups) and two teams in the division made conflicting requests.

Q: We want to send multiple teams from our club that are in the same age group. Will they be playing against each other?
A: One of the benefits of playing in a tournament is the opportunity to play teams that you might not otherwise play. Typically there are more divisions within the age groups than there are teams from an individual club and we make every effort to avoid having teams from the same club play each other when setting the divisions and schedule.

Q: We want to send a team from our club that is a "pre-travel" team at the U-9 age group. Do you have major and minor divisions?
A: Although we do not have major and minor divisions, we do understand that there are some teams, particularly at the U-9 age group that want to play stronger teams. When such teams enter the tournament, we also want to see them play stronger teams to keep the games competitive and so that everyone has fun, learns, and is challenged. In such a case, you should make a request when submitting your team's application to play against stronger teams. When setting the divisions and schedule, we do our best to have teams making such a request to play against each other.

Q: I have someone that is handicapped/on crutches, etc. Is it possible for my team to be assigned to a field near the parking lot?
A: We understand how important it is for children to have their relatives see them play. Although it is not possible to make field assignments to accomodate such a situation, we do use golf carts to transport individuals from the parking lot to the field that their loved one is playing on. We will have people directing parking and they should be informed of this situation when arriving and a cart will be sent to transport the individual.

Q: What if I have a question that is not answered here?
A: Additional questions can be addressed to the Fall Classic Tournament Director, John Davis, or Assistant Director, Glenn Smith. John can be contacted at 631-277-7970 or by e-mail JMD171@aol.com. Glenn can be contacted at 631-277-8973.
