Thinking about coaching a travel team?
Thinking about coaching or assistant coaching a travel team? GREAT! Here is some information and links to help. First, as a club we want all our coaches to subscribe to our Mission Statement, listing: Fun, Fairplay and Friendship. By ensuring your athletes adhere to these three points, you will ensure a positive soccer experience. Second, a Kids Safe Disclosure form will need to be completed. Also, you will need to obtain a "F" license. This coaching certification is a 9 hour course, part class room, and part practical. Don't worry, its as strenuous as you make it. There is no test and the cost is only $30. These are state requirements put in place to safe guard our chgildren. There is also a Coaching Handbook provided on-line that provides a step by step guide for completing your team's registration. Reach out to one of our older team coaches (not older coach, just teams that have been together for awhile.) These coaches can provide a lot of insight on how to run your team that will save time and effort. Also check out U.S. Soccer's publication, Best Practices for Coaching Soccer, at View Book .
Lastly, visit our team websites to see how much fun you and your athletes can have.
