A few notes before the playoffs start......

Alcohol Issues.

  •   If a player is too drunk to play safely, if he/she/ argues or disputes a call, or causes any disruption to the game. He/she can be ejected from the game by the Umpire.  The incident will be reported and the executive will decide whether a  suspension is necessary.
  • No cigarettes allowed on the diamond. 

Jewelry

  • No jewelry is allowed except for medical alert charms.
  • Taping earrings, nose rings etc. is not acceptable
  • Sunglasses must be worn on the face.  They cannot be worn on the head or back of hat when up to bat or running at all.   
  • Hats will not be worn the backwards.

  Bat rules

  • Bats with the 2000, 2004 ASA and ISF stamps are allowed
  • Bats with the new  2012 USSSA 1.20 BPF stamp on the taper of the bat are allowed
  • Umpires will do a bat check before each game.
  • Present all Grandfather bats to umps prior to using, it is their discretion to see if bat would comply with the ASA bat performance standards.
  • If a player is caught using an illegal bat he/she AND the team rep with be thrown out of the game.

 

Time Limit

  • Games need to move along at a good pace.
  • No NEW innings will start after the 1 hour 15 min mark from the first pitch.
  • The 10 min grace period is still allowed  but you should have your team arrive 30 mins before game time.
  • To hurry game up, if a home run is hit, runner does not have to round all bags.  Must touch 1st base

Coaching

  •  Coaches may NOT touch runners, hands off. (High five is fine)
  •  If a hit ball hits a coach,  It is a dead ball.

Injuries

  •  Any open wounds with blood must be stopped, before player can play again.
  • If a player gets hurt during the game, they will be allowed a substitute runner until they feel they can run again.  (This does not affect the number of curtesy runners)

 Measurements

  • Pitcher can move 2.5 feet to the right, 2.5 feet to the left, and 5 feet back from a line between 1st and 3rd base
  • Batter’s box is 7 feet by 3 feet . 2 feet in front of the plate, 2 feet behind.  If you step out of the batter’s box, you will be called out.
  • On a bunt, 3rd and 1st can come up as far as the pitcher.

I have added the schedule to the website. Please be advised that the schedule you were given is the correct schedule. There are 168 games to enter so it takes some time to make sure that everything is 100% accurate. If you notice any discrepancies between the site and the printed schedule, please let me know!

Give a Miracle A Chance Tournament

Give A Miracle A Chance would like to present your invitation  to our  8th Annual Mixed Slo-Pitch tournament on June 15th, 2013, with a June 22, 2013 rain date at West Park, 1210 Ravenshoe Sideroad, Keswick, Ontario. We are offering an Early Bird Registration team registration fee of $275.00 up to May 19th, 2013. All we ask is that you provide a minimum of $100.00 deposit with a signed Registration form. After May 19th,  Team Registration is $300.00.

It’s a great family day and we invite teams to come out  for a great cause. The tournament  will carry the tradition of supporting our Special Needs kids with all net proceeds offering financial assistance for the much needed therapies they need closer to their own backyards.  The goal is to get every child with Special Needs to the extreme of what they are capable of doing and build awareness.

We hope to see everyone back this year. The tournament Roster is filling up quickly so please don't hesitate to register to confirm your spot on the Roster. Attached is a Registration Form and Invitation Letter.   

The kitchen crew will be offering the traditional pancake breakfast and barbeque lunch. The Beer Gardens will be open to enjoy some ice cold refreshments to mingle with your friends and enjoy some great tunes.

We will be hosting our Bert Craven Kids Friendship game FREE for all kids of all ages and Abilities.  All we ask is that they bring their big smiles and have FUN!!!!
