EDGE Youth Athletics TRACK CLUB coming to NE Phoenix/Scottsdale area for the 2013 Season

We are a member of USA Track & Field (the U.S. Governing body of the sport).

The purpose of the Club is twofold, first to provide training for athletes looking to develop their current skills and secondly, to provide a positive and rewarding experience for athletes who are having their first exposure to Track and Field. Participation in the sport of Track and Field provides athletes with an opportunity to compete as an individual where as many other sports require athletes to compete as a team. The EDGE Track Club provides an atmosphere for athletes to get exercise, develop Track & Field skills, and have fun. Emphasis is always placed on personal development while helping athletes set individual goals; with achievement of performance goals as the basis for measuring success. Athletes will be taught to focus and strive for continual personal improvement rather than winning.

“Running is the greatest metaphor for life, because you get out of it what you put into it"

We primarily seek athletes for whom Track & Field is their main sport to assist in developing their skills and helping them be successful. We encourage all youth athletes to join our club regardless of the sport he/she participates in.

The Club is run by Head Coach - Hiedi Chapin. We offer athletes an opportunity to compete in USA Track and Field events such as running and hurdle events from 100m to 3000m, jumping events which include Long Jump, High Jump, and Triple Jump and throwing events which include Javelin, Mini-Javelin (for the Bantam & Midget age groups), Discus, and Shot Put.

Club athletes can compete in USATF, Junior Olympic and USA Junior Track & Field competitions on a State and Regional level. USATF Youth programs are open to athletes from ages 8 to 18.

The USA Junior program is open to athletes from ages 14-19. Athletes who are currently enrolled in HIGH SCHOOL may also become a Club Member with opportunities to compete in Youth National, Junior Olympic, Junior National and International competition during the summer.

During the High School Track Season, however, the athlete's first responsibility is to their school program. Coach permission should be sought before participating in any Club practices or activities.
