After a long and VERY cold weekend...the team worked together for another victory in the final game of the weekend against Napa (4-1)...assuring us a spot in the Sweet 16 round on Saturday, April 18!!!!

EC United takes 2nd place in the tournament...after a loss in the Championship game to the Canadian FC Metro Mustangs. We travelled together to Anaheim for this College Showcase Tournament. Congratulations team on a terrific and well played weekend.

EC United came back strong in the first tournament of the Spring season...with 2 wins, 1 tie and 1 loss. An excellent effort was made by everyone and it was a good preparation for our upcoming State Cup games!

We are very proud and excited to have Hans training with us again this year! Hans is one of the few personalities who need no introduction. The USSF 'A' licensed, 17 year National Team coach and 1991 Indoor World Cup Head Coach is a much sought-after clinician. His nationwide Goalkeeping sessions, USSF National License and CYSA State license demonstrations, are tremendously popular.
European born and trained, Hans' perception of the American sporting life enabled him to quickly recognize the specific soccer playing talent. Coach de Graef's commitment to the technical development of the American player has earned him unique recognition in his programs, along with coaching the senior women's California State team, in which Hans has personally placed 13 women on the US Women's National team and to his credit, 6 have won the World Cup and 5 more have won Olympic Gold Medals, of which Hans is extremely proud!!

EC United to participate in NorCal State Cup Competition. This event will take place around the same time period as CYSA State Cup (March-May 2009). The games will be advertised to colleges as a college showcase event. The ladies of EC United are constantly striving for academic excellence in addition to their outstanding athletic abilities. The college showcase events are a great opportunity to display their athletic skills while thinking about their academic future.

Congratulations to the following girls for earning the EC United Scholar Athlete Award. This award is given annually to every player that has a 3.5 GPA or higher for 3 or more quarters during the school year. This year's recipients are: Clarissa Diaz, Kristy Garcia, Jessica Jones, Stephanie Palomino, Breana Partida and Amanda Wallach.
