LET'S ALL WORK TOGETHER in 2009 to maintain the PATRIOTS STANDARD:
"A Tradition of Excellence."

Enjoy This Special Feature Slideshow From Last Weekend's First Round Playoff Action
DON'T FORGET - YOU CAN ORDER ANY OF THESE PRINTS! Double-click the slideshow to log on to SmugMug (click on "Your Photos" at the top) to see even more pictures and order any of them online.  The pictures and gift items are very reasonably priced and the quality is excellent.  We've heard from the Patriot families that have ordered prints that they are very satisfied with their purchases.

A very special thanks to all of our fabulous photographers for providing these game day action shots.  Eight of the ten teams that qualified for the playoffs advanced to the semi-final rounds.  That is our best showing yet!  Good luck to all of teams this weekend - One more win and it is on to the Championships!
You can see additional slideshows on the Cheer Program, the Bull Roast and the Golf Tournament pages.

Attention Parents,
Surely you have heard the cliche, "We are only as good as our weakest link".  Well, we want and need your feedback on the Patriot's program - both positive and *gulp* negative.  The 2009 Parent's Survey is now online and ready to be completed.  Now that the season is winding down (but before you get all wrapped up in the next sport!) please take a few minutes to tell us how we can continue to improve.   Or just let us know what you would like to see continued.  As was the case last year, your responses will be anonymous unless you choose to give your contact information.  Follow this link to be redirected to the survey site.

PATRIOTS IN THE NEWS!
Congratulations to Darian Kassiri and Coach Marc Kolp for being honored as 2009 Howard County GoodSports Award Winners in a ceremony attended by over 600 people at Turf Vally Country Club this past Tuesday, October 20th.  Award winners are chosen from all of the HoCo sports programs including baseball, wrestling, LAX, soccer, EYO and the list goes on.
Darian was one of only 14 players selected to achieve this award.  "The Youth Player of the Year award recognizes the player's dedication, respect for teammates, leadership, academic effort, community service, attitude, commitment to practice, respect for coaches and respect for officials."
Coach Marc joined 19 other Coaches of the Year who were recognized for their "commitment, dedication, preparation, respect for officials, teaching skills, emphasis on teamwork, team ethics, leadership, motivation, sportsmanship and patience in youth and adult sports."  He exemplifies what it means to be a Patriot's coach.
Marc and Darian join last year's winners Carter Flaig and Coach Linda Spano.  They are tremendous assets to our program and they have set the bar high for future potential honorees of these prestigious awards.  Congratulate them if you see them!

PARKING POLICY

FOR COACHES AND VOLUNTEERS:

  • If you coach or volunteer, come early to set-up.

FOR ALL PARENTS AND COACHES:

  • No matter what, DO NOT park in front of the townhomes beyond the school's parking lot.  We must be more considerate of the homeowners in the neighborhood.  Consider how you would like to be treated if you owned one the homes in that area.
  • Everyone is strongly encouraged to CARPOOL if possible, and drop-off the players/cheerleaders at the field.  From there go do something for yourselves... leave the childcare to us for a couple of hours.   Just don't forget to return at the end of practice at 8pm for pick-up and please don't be late!
  • Please remember that overflow parking is available across Rt. 99 at Patapsco Middle School.  It is only a five minute walk to Hollifield from Patapsco Middle.
  • VERY IMPORTANT!  For the Patriots program to maintain its good standing in the community, it is critical that we respect the families in the surrounding neighborhood. Patriots parents and coaches should NOT park in front of any of the townhouses or on the nearby side streets.  At the end of practice, all players should exit through the school's parking lot and no Patriot should be cutting between the townhouses on the way to their car.  Also when dropping off your players do not pull into the parking lot and stop.  It causes a traffic jam and dangerous situation for the Patriots who are still out on the street.  Pull completely into the lot and keep the drive aisles clear.  Remember that the parking closest to the field is reserved for the coaches and volunteers who are manning any of the tables set up at the top of the field.  Please do not park there.

Please understand that we could have our practices cancelled by Howard County on nights when there are school events if we create too many problems for the school and/or the neighborhood.  WE NEED YOUR HELP!

Thank you in advance for your anticipated support

 INCLEMENT WEATHER PROCEDURE

Please call the Inclement Weather Hotline at 410-313-4451 if you are in doubt about whether practice will be canceled or not.  Note that because storms sometimes come up quickly, it is not always possible to predict a cancellation.  We will update the hotline and try to post all cancellations on this website as soon as we feel we know what the weather is going to do.  Please try to be understanding if we don't always make the correct "call!"
We will always try to practice if we are able.  Rain won't necessarily stop us (football in the mud is fun!) but thunder and lightning will always postpone us (at least 30 minutes after the last lightning is seen or thunder is heard).
Important:  If a prolonged thunderstorm occurs after practice has started, you may need to pick-up your son or daughter from practice early.  Please keep your eye on the weather.

FOOTBALL NEWS

First Priority:   FAMILY & SCHOOL

Second Priority:  FOOTBALL & OTHER ACTIVITIES

Patriots football players are STUDENT-ATHLETES and are expected to maintain
good grades and good behavior while participating in the program.  Parents are
encouraged to discuss problems at school with your coaches so that appropriate decisions can be made about football participation.

PATRIOTS CODE OF CONDUCT:

Please remember to obey the rules set out in the Code of Conduct Agreements that everyone signed.  Failure to follow those rules could result in your being suspended from the league and banned from participation in the Mid Maryland Youth Football and Cheer League.  Always remember - This is youth sports.  Set a good example.
