Carolina Women's Soccer Announces Eight For Class of 2015

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - The University of North Carolina women's soccer program has announced the eight members of the Class of 2015 who will join head coach Anson Dorrance's vaunted program this fall as Carolina seeks a return to the College Cup in 2011 while also recapturing the ACC Tournament title.

The Tar Heel recruiting class includes players from four states, including a trio of Californians, a pair from the Tar Heel State and a Canadian.

Satara Murray is a defender from Austin, Texas. She attends McNeil High School and competes for the Lone Star Soccer Club. She is a member of the Region III Olympic Development Program team.

Kat Nigro is a native of Livingston, Tenn. The midfielder attends Livingston Academy and plays for coach Cristin Czubik at the Brentwood Soccer Club. She is a member of the Region III ODP Team and has played for the U.S. U17 National Team.

Taylor Ramirez is a defender from Anaheim, Calif. She attends Katella High School and plays for Orange Soccer Club where she is coached by Brian Kleiban.

Teresa Anania joins the Carolina from north of the border. The native of Toronto, Ontario is a midfielder who plays for coach Laurence Leydier at the Phoenix Soccer Club. Anania attends Langley Secondary School in Langley, British Columbia.

Like Ramirez, Brooke Elby competes for the Orange Soccer Club and is coached there by Brian Kleiban. Elby hails from Sierra Madre, Calif. She is a forward and attends the Flintridge Preparatory School.

Bianca Gray is a Tar Heel native, listing Havelock as her hometown. The forward attends the North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics. She plays for UNC three-time National Player of the Year Cindy Parlow at Triangle United Soccer Club.

The second Tar Heel native is Farrell Sweeney of Chapel Hill. A midfielder at East Chapel Hill High School, she is a Region III ODP player. Sweeney also plays for Cindy Parlow at Triangle United.



Sarah Thompson rounds out the list of Golden State natives. Hailing from San Francisco, she is a combination forward/midfielder who attends San Francisco University High School. She plays for coach Albertin Montoya and the MVLA Storm club team.

North Carolina finished the 2010 season with an overall record of 19-3-2, including an 8-2 mark in the ACC. The Tar Heels won the ACC regular season championship, reached the semifinals of the 2010 ACC Tournament and advanced to the third round of the 2010 NCAA Tournament.
