EBYA is a non-profit 501c3 corporation, and is the largest all-volunteer organization in East Brandywine Township. Meetings of the EBYA Board of Directors are held on the third Monday of each month, in the Gallery room, off the central lobby of the East Brandywine Township Building, at 7:30 pm. Volunteer opportunities are always available for interested individuals. If you are interested in coaching, Division Commissioner, or other volunteer positions related to a specific sport, you can indicate that interest when registering your child for the sport, and you will be contacted by the commissioner for that sport. You can also contact the sport commissioner (for soccer contact (soccer@ebya.org) directly, or via email to president@ebya.org to indicate your interest.
There are also general Board-level positions that become available from time to time. These positions are not related to individual sports, and carry fiduciary responsibilities for the proper handling of EBYA business. Attendance at the monthly Board meetings is mandatory, as that is when the majority of communication takes place between Board members and sports commissioners. Positions that are currently available are:
EBYA Secretary - An officer of the corporation, the Secretary maintains the official records and correspondence of the corporation, and takes the minutes of the monthly meetings of the EBYA Board.
EBYA Treasurer - An officer of the corporation, the Treasurer maintains the financial records of the corporation, including receipts and disbursements. Prepares and presents monthly financial statements at the monthly meetings of the EBYA Board. Prepares, or arranges for the preparation of, the annual tax returns of the corporation. Experience with QuickBooks, or other typical business financial software, is preferred. The individual should be eligible to be Bonded.
Individuals interested in these positions should contact the EBYA President, at president@ebya.org, and provide a resume of professional qualifications and a brief statement of why they would like to serve in the position. Positions will be filled after an interview with the Board, an a vote of approval by the majority of the Board.
