Coach A started coaching in Hooterville in 1989 when soccer was introduced to Eatonville High School. Prior to this time he had played four years on his high school's varisty team in Salt Lake City.
Moving to Tacoma after graduation, he helped found the men's soccer program at PLU in 1970 where he played as an outside midfielder for two seasons. During that time he coached two youth U-8 teams.
Upon being hired to teach at Eatonville Junior High in 1974, he attemped to get the district interested in soccer to no avail, until a parent/student group demonstated that there was a core of boys and girls who were interested in fielding teams for both genders in the fall of 1989. Mr. A. has coached the boys' teams since then and started coaching the girls' team in 1996.
