Dear Parents,

This letter is being sent home with your daughter to explain the expectations that we as coaches have of our soccer team.

The best players will be selected to play and start on the varsity team without regard to their age.  They are representing Eatonville High School and that is the standard by which all varsity players are chosen.  It is important to recognize that the players who start the season on the varsity team, for one reason or another, may play on the JV team and JV players will, if warranted, get varsity time, IF they are working hard to show the sort of play and effort needed to play on the varsity team.

To letter, a player must play at least forty minutes on the field of a varsity game.  These are total minutes, so if it takes three games to acquire the forty minutes then a letter has been won.  We want all of the girls to have that as one of their personal goals, but we do not want to place anyone in the position of losing a game just to letter.  To be worthwhile the letter must be earned.

The uniforms issued to the players are their responsibility to keep track of and turn in at the end of the season.  Normal wear and tear is expected in the course of the season, but if anything is lost it must be replaced.

We had an extremely successful season last year and have the potential to make the playoffs again this season.  We encourage you to come to all of our games and continue the great support that we have had in the past.  This season we are striving to not only win the league, but the sportsmanship trophy too.  With your assistance and the girlsŐ desire this season should be just as much fun and productive.
