Cruiser Season Ends at Olympic Stadium
Even though Eatonville outshot Klahowya 12-8, the Eagles had the wind
at the end and scored the final three goals of the match to win 3-2 and
knock the Cruisers out of the playoffs.
Jenna Samora scored the first goal of the game at the 19th minute on an
assist from Brianna Stead. EHS had three shoots off the bar and post
but were unable get one more in the net, and that would be the score at
the end of the first half as the teams switched sides.
Samora scored her second goal one minute into the half, when Jessica
Erickson crossed a ball to the top of the box that Samora finished.
Unfortunately, that would be the end of the Cruisers' goals and
Klahowya was able to score three at the 45th, 71st, and 77th minutes.
Eatonville attempted to get the ball into the Eagle area but were
ubable to get a shot off on goal. Klahowya is the number two seed from
WCD III and will play their first round match Wednesday evening at
Olympic Stadium.
EHS finishes the season 11-4, with 7 shutouts and outscored its
opponents 64-14. Not bad for one of the smallest 2A schools in
the state! Congratulations on a hard-fought season.
